So, clubs don’t have depth to cover injuries? It’s a contact sport and the tigers have a game plan based on soldiers and role players. Yes, Rance is the best defender of this decade, however, we do have a bloke called Garthwaite who has been ready to go for a year. He now gets his chance. I feel flat as shit this morning, but, what can you do? We have to get on with it. Garth now gets a chance to be fast tracked. That’s football life.

Richmond supporters are up and about. Nankervis smashed it all night, really??? Got 3 cheap easy goals, couldn’t win a hit out around the ground, was always behind at the boundary throw ins. They also can’t see that Lynch and Mr. Flogside in the same forward 50 will come undone sooner rather than later. Lynch knows where to lead and if he gets good delivery could be unstoppable....unless you have the hero....who constantly leads into his space, spoils him in contests, makes it all about himself and try’s to take a hanger ever 3 seconds then complains when he gives a free kick away. A decent experienced back line and they might struggle I think

I thought the calton youth ran out of legs as you would probably expect.

The other factor is one side knows how to pull away and win in final quarters. Carlton probably didnt know what to do. Richmond just played the same pattern they have for the last 2 years. Keep grinding for 3 quarters and then kick away in the last with a few quick goals.

Yeah its a big blow and in round 1 makes it harder to take id imagine.

I was thinking before the game actually who is Tigers most important player to structure and thought Rance was more that player than Dusty.

Sure they all should be banned, but the guy had the Richmond bloke held down on the ground seconds earlier so to claim he didn't see it coming is a bit rich, I'm not sure we watched the same footage.

Sure they all should be banned, but the guy had the Richmond bloke held down on the ground seconds earlier so to claim he didn't see it coming is a bit rich, I'm not sure we watched the same footage.

The knocked out bloke was trying to grab the arms of the guy in the white T-shirt, who was trying to throw punches; when the Richmond fella got to his feet and popped up between them, the bloke just stood there looking at him. Didn’t look like he was trying to fight anyone, didn’t have his hands up, didn’t throw a punch, and to me, didn’t seem like he was expecting to be punched.

It’s a massive blow, however the flip side is we get a full season to re jig the defense and it puts a year of development into Garth. No one plays forever. We just have to get on with it. It may even galvanize the group further.
