We have some really good young talent that has been exposed to AFL football, and in some ways shown they have what it takes. Obviously some more than others. But how exciting is this list of young players:
Bailey Williams, Tim English, Aaron Naughton, Bailey Smith, Josh Dunkley, Patrick Lipinski, Ed Richards, Will Hayes, Brad Lynch, Lewis Young, Billy Gowers, Lachie Young, Fergus Greene and Josh Schache.

Some real talent. Add in that young, but experienced core about to enter their prime- Bontempelli, Macrae, Liberatore, Hunter, McLean, Cordy, Johannisen, and Daniel.

I am heavily invested, I think we are a lot closer than a lot of others think. Maybe as a few have suggested just some new coaching ideas to go with this heavily talented list.

Bontempelli captain also needs to happen next season.

I’ve gone pretty negative on us today but I’m always invested. But in saying that - I do want to see some changes. We really need to beef up our coaching department. Look what has happened at the saints. Corey, King, Gia, Hansen and Grace yes helped us get to a flag but we need some new ideas from some more mature heads.

Corey - we hear nothing. For all we know he's mute.

King - Been there too long now. We're getting smashed in the ruck and I would've thought that's the area he could help most with.

Gia - working fine as Footscray coach which has saved him.

Hansen - he was a forward and our forward line is non existent.

Grace - who?

What frustrates me is the lack of bringing in new people to the coaching department in recent times If you look at St Kilda and Port this year they have brought new people into their coaching department and are already seeing positive results I have been saying this for a very very long time the loss of Brett Montgomery from or football department was huge. The old saying in business you are only as good as your 2 I C or right hand man who is Bevos right hand man Ashley Hansen ? who will be head coach of Deer Park football once he leaves the dogs. What also concerns me is the fact that any of our assistant coaches have not played football at a higher level for over 6 years, surely we need to bring in coaches who have recently played the game and coaches on the mature side its to far to sided for me at the moment

thats bevos call yeh?

I’m invested but I feel like things will get much worse before they get better and that the coach is pretty much done and dusted. Now we’re going to have to endure a torrid time before the club acts and we get a new coach and a new era begins. Question is will we waste this season alone or carry the rot into next season.

if alan richardson and bolton can last this long without finals im sure bevo is safe till at least 2021. regardless how bad we are

when you have yes man underneath you any call is yours

at the end of the day what did you think was going to happen when a small club wins the glory?? people want total control/power and in their mind they can do no wrong. why would bevo want to have people underneath him challenging him? he is a lenged of the club now and doesnt have to answer to anybody.

the fans are guilty for this mindset of "players or coach doesnt have to do anything for the rest of his career, eg boyd". and this is the result we get if we continue to have that mindset of that 2016 flag.

Leicester city is a good example. its actually very similar to the dogs.

As bad as things get, it still doesn’t equal the disappointment I felt after not even making a grand final through 2008 to 2010, while the other teams who were top four with us during that period won flags, Geelong, Hawthorn, Collingwood, even Sydney our finals bunny through that time won a flag in 2012, while we had nothing.

The flag sustains me, but there is definitely something going on at our club. There is no joy anymore, our banners have gone, Sue Alberti was treated abysmally by Gordon and many supporters are still filthy on this. Our women’s team is getting raided by extension clubs. Players are suffering from depression, or talk about no longer enjoying their football. After the flag, the club treated the supporters as cash cows, no memorabilia sent out like other clubs did, just price gouging. Great it got us out of debt, but has it cost us our integrity.

Our leaders are non existent, our coaching staff are the same, while valuable talent has leaked I.e. Dalrmple. Still no recognisable forwards coach, despite our poor forward line being bad for three years now. The only bright spark this season is the VFL boys under Gia.

I would like the club to recruit a senior assistant coach who has been a senior coach himself under Bevo who can challenge him, and give him some other ideas. We can afford this, and a specialised forward coach for f*** sake.

Will always support the club, but might be busy with other things game day.

Invested- always.

Currently disappointed and frustrated.

Mainly because this group is better than they are performing. Why?
Team balance seems out of whack, game plan is non-existant, selections are puzzling.
And skills are poor. Goal kicking awful. Confidence drops accordingly.

Is there a Bevo grand plan we are missing? I can't see it.

I am going to the Freo game next week and I am expecting us to get smashed.
Not happy- but still invested.

We were great rounds 1, 2 and 4. Horrendous 3 and 5. Which means we can do it, but the difference between our best and worst is too big. Arrogant team selections has always been the case while Bevo has been coaching and it worked many times between 2015 and 2016. There were heaps of games where I thought, Jesus we have gone in so small or gone in too tall, but it ended up working. But he is getting found out now with it big time.

Invested = financially yes (upgraded to reserved seats this year).

Passionate = yes, hence the major disappointment and raving melt downs.

Interested = not unless we are given some hope and dialogue from club to supporters. I've got a million and one better things to do and my early season choice of not attending away games until I see how the season pans out is a decision now cemented.

Invested - Yes, but the club shouldn't take that for granted. Not as much as I was 10 years ago though.

Interested - Usually, but I can often take or leave watching them live now. The Crows match last year I recorded, fast forwarded and saw us getting belted and playing like busteds, so went to bed.

we all love the red white and blue

its football i hate at the moment

And yes its time to start winning or look for new leadership at the top

Bevo is nothing but replaceable

I have and always will be invested although at the moment I'm disappointed

Have seen many lows in my 40 odd years of supporting this great club but inevitably they have turned it around and have also seen many highs

All I hope for is that we can get the basics right of kicking to our forwards advantage and nailing gettable set shots

Until we start losing by big margins on a regular basis the coaches shouldn't be looked at.

Invested but disappointed we are the ugliness team to watch by a country mile. Do not enjoy watching our, game style. We have in the last 2 seasons reverted back to the BMAC game plan with no structure and poor ball movement. I went to Rugby last week and that was more enjoyable than watching us play and I do not like Rugby

I'm starting to think the Bulldogs don't need me at all and from my perspective it would solve a lot of heartache/wasted energy.

I wouldn't have to go to games and could do something else.
I wouldn't have to try and be mindful on what I say on this forum.
I wouldn't upset anyone with my comments on this forum.
I wouldn't have to listen to that dud norf supporter who sits behind me.
The team would benefit from one less negative person there.
I wouldn't have to worry about whether I boo, what religion I am or what views I hold.

Footy just seems sooo serious these days. It's was supposed to be fun, a way to ease life's stressors on the weekend. FFS - it's a sport goddamn it!

Any views?

I was a bit the same when I lived in Victoria. AFL is very hard to get away from and is literally a religion down there. Until you move away from Victoria you may not realise it. If the dogs play like s**t trucks (eg last weekend) it ruins an hour of my life these days, not the week. It is possible to still love the club but not be as emotionally invested as you may be, but you will have to move to QLD...
