Rules of engagement:

Maybe but ultimatums like this might bring about new possibilities and change the course of other trades that might have been done Monday and today. Landscape changes with new info.

The turning pick 14 to 8 wasn’t even our decision. West Coast had the choice of taking our pick or Blues and luckily for us they chose poorly.

The way the Essendon trade negotiation has panned out, the Carlton death ride and subsequent pick slide from 14th to 8th has meant absolutely nothing, because that pick is only seen as “a first rounder,” and the six-pick difference doesn’t seem to have any bearing on its value to them.

Add in Day + Merrett to the finals midfield, and it could end up looking like;

Pick 9 (or whatever it becomes), Pick 15-20, Pick 35-40, Hustwaite...
