This thread is becoming increasingly popular, and to keep some sort of order, we will have some….

Rules of engagement:

1. Bring valid news or links to Twitter posts from notable sources. Don’t post screenshots or “some bloke just said on SEN” or what some “trade whisperer” has posted on a Facebook page.

2. Ignore what other team boards are putting up as trade offers. Don’t quote or bring them here either.

3. Don’t post “buckle up” for the lols.

4. If you can’t say anything nice about Worpel or CJ, don’t say anything at all. The continued slaps and backhanders are just going to be deleted.

It will be interesting to see how certain players go next year ... players who some say we couldn't possibly trade; they're 200 gamers in waiting/if they can just stay injury free etc., etc.
I don't blame anyone not wanting to go to * but I'm not convinced just yet about said players. The bold move might have been to trade the 'unproven'.
We'll improve internally, w any luck - McDonald, Anderson, Maginness, for starters, to the midfield (Day, of course) - but some need to step up big-time. Or they're on their way, IMO.

Things I hope to see:

- this fuelling rivalry that gives us 2 matches against the bombers for the next few seasons (and therefore two free wins each season)

- Ginni rocking the jab cellie in rnd 1 to put us up by 15 goals. Maybe even high fiving Merrett on the way past.

- whoever we pickup at our first pick turning out to be an all Australian calibre 200 game player

as well as mackenzie, ward and butler, reckon croc is the one who could really go to the next level as a mid fwd. i hope this is part of plan b.

Assuming the info regarding Day is correct then Newcombe, Nash and Ward are the starting midfield three going into next season.

We will have Mackenzie, Butler and Moore spending plenty of time in there. Plus we will have some set-plays for the Wiz.

I suppose Ginnivan and MacDonald could get a run in the middle too at stages.

This might sound harsh but imo we have absolutely improved our best 22 this trade period by cutting dead wood.

Worpel and CJ were best on for the opposition half the games they played.
Worpel played his 2 best games for the year in the Elimination and Semi finals. CJ played 20 games and without Weddle and Morrisson he offered cover.

Long term though i'm glad more games will go to some of our better kicks and decision makers.

All our forwards and our backs are good users. Still a few dodgy users in our midfield bunch mostly the young guys like Huss, Butler and Mackenzie who are skilled but make errors. Finn and Nash are below average skilled. And Day and Weddle are a little bit off sometimes but more than make up for it.

If everything clicks we have a very high skilled side running out there.

Sorry to intrude just wanted to say the deal you guys offered Essendon was absolutely amazing, incredibly fair and probably overs.

I cannot believe they turned that down, crazy decision by them.

I just cannot understand clubs like Essendon. Do they just have no interests in being anything but mediocre?

We've tried a few times and he's been poor. Early in the year flat out refusing to pick up his man at a stoppage when instructed to by Ginnivan, that player then runs it down the other end for a goal.

He is a silky user but needs to go both ways, hopefully he can knuckle down on that.

Kind of relieved the club had enough control and not bend & offer 4 first for a 30 year old. I can live without Merrett but not with a shitty deal that destroys our future.
I think bombers still would have said no. They told us what to offer, then sat on it till 15 minutes at upped it again.

They didn't want a deal. They intentionally wasted out time. Joke organisation.

I hope everyone next season ripps me a new one for saying this but, I think croc has next to no improvement in him.
HUGE upside.
You're so wrong.

Consider it a sign of his football intelligence that a highly capable mid has carved out a role for himself as a HFF at AFL level from his first season. He has played +20 games every season in that role since being drafted.

Don't look at him playing hff as a reflection of his limitations, rather, he is the only one of our junior mids capable of playing there. That's why he didn't have a spell at BHH like Ward and Mackenzie - who can only really play as mids.

All they cared about was humiliating us in the deal.

This was the most embarassing thing to happen to them for years and they couldn't get past it.

List management, their culture had nothing to do with their decision making. Would prefer to burn their own house down than get a deal that suited everyone.

You don't work in the AFL media then?
