Player Watch #16: Zac Fisher

His little incisive kicks are delightful. Was his best asset at Carlton too, so that's sustainable. Unlike the 35 disposal thing
If you tally his disposals from the 3 times he played half back for Carlton last year with our one praccie game vs the Saints, he averages 30 disposals.

He's going to be an excellent accumulator.

See how he goes with the others rotating through there. But promising signs for sure

Same here. I was expecting the other stuff after his half in the Pies game but noticed that and was pleasantly surprised by it.

If Zac keeps this up, we’ll be sniffing around Carlton every year. First Waite, now Fisher. Who needs the draft when we have Carlton? 🤣
That, is a good point lol. I reckon Waite was fantastic already. He just couldn't get on the park often enough and when he did Carlton were always kicking to Fev. They also played him in the backline.

Waite was probably the best recruit of the 2010s other than Higgo. They collectively gave opposition coaches and players nightmares.

His 2016 form was arguably career-best until he got injured. For an older body, he could still jump and clunk like he was 26.

Wish Higgins had retired a roo albeit Charlie was good compensation for a guy so late in his career.

the biggest surprise for me was some of his one on one efforts. Held his own and won a fair few contests.

Despite his size, he's tough.

Has quick hands also, is a good kick and has a bit of toe about him.

I rated him highly at Carlton, and am still peeved we didnt treat him fairly or play him enough.

Have to think that he'd be pretty disappointed with that effort.

Offered nothing defensively and his kicking was suspect.

If he is going to be receiving hand-offs, he has to be nailing the kicks.

Like the pace though.

s**t debut. Has to be said.
One of the things I hate is that our best footy and worst footy was so far apart.
We need to be shortening the gap.

If Carlton were happy to let him go for the same reason then its not good enough. His praccy match and yesterday were like watching different humans altogether

He's a vanishing artist. Can't be relied on and seemingly did it more and more often the higher pressure the game was.

Good player at his best but get used to him turning into an E lister every few games if he's going to be the same as he was with us.

So an upgrade on the F listers we’ve had recently 👍

I saw Fisher get beaten 4 times by a bloke a foot taller than him
Gws are a special case who have big mobile athletic guys and their fwds are a nightmare for any team let alone our bunch of newbies
We were a goal down 5 minutes from half time while admittedly being thrashed so the run and gun game has potential
With Goat out Fisher will get plenty of chances
