Meanwhile, Sydney has invited the younger brothers of Kieren Jack and Ted Richards to pre-season training, with the pair possible considerations for the December 11 rookie draft.

Xavier Richards played for the Sandringham Dragons as a 19-year-old this year but was overlooked in last week's draft. Brandon Jack was part of the Swans' Academy and the NSW/ACT under-18 side this season, and played a couple of games for the Sydney reserves.

Interesting choice to invite Xavier Richards, Certainly showed some signs of potential during the year but was very inconsistant.

Is there any mature age key defenders we could rookie? Someone like a jayden post.

Heard our scouts watched him play and train with Xavier last year but was overlooked as he was too often in the tier of lesser players on the field.

If we draft him it's getting hard to deny with he an Old Xavs drafting policy.

He did show a great deal of improvement in the TAC Cup this year though, And he had a few great shut down games during the year.

Main issue I have with him is his consistency, He conceded 8 goals whilst playing on Tim Membrey (Slightly ironic :p) (And could also be just due down to Membrey's class and form during the finals series)

But it is slightly less known that Richards actually held Membrey to only one goal only a few weeks beforehand...

He is certainly more athletic than his brother and a bit quicker off the mark... But he really struggles with his concentration and lets a lot of small things really get to him, If he wants to make it even at VFL level (Where I think he played one or two games for the Zebra's this year) he really needs to work on his focus and be a bit less emotional on the field... He lets too much get to him.

Solid without being a spectacular kick, Pretty versatile (Can be thrown up forward), Needs to put on a fair bit of weight.

I think he wouldn't be the worst rookie prospect out there... Would certainly be a project though, Needs to work on his body positioning, Focus, And general reading of the play before he goes anywhere though.

Joel Tippett? :p

Seriously though he was very very good in the SANFL this year and its hard to not see someone giving him a chance.

Question answered. Good size is your typical shut down role sort of guy. Joel did have bad back issues and didn't play finals for west Adelaide

Would have liked us to pick up jack Hannath just as a bit more back up if pyke goes down you can't always rely on Mumford and I don't want Tippet to ruck much

Got Naismith as a back up ruck, good for in NEAFL by all accounts
