Are South Morang gone? Very hard to recover from a 0-3 start.

Rebuild is a strange way to put it. Finished top last year and have openly added talent in chasing a flag Maghamez on big coin. Celestin and McKenna were recruited for division 1 experience.

Morang may have finished on top but went out in straight set. So they are looking to get the right players in the right positions & we all know this takes time?

It may take time but how much time and money can they afford. I am not sure of their financial situation but you only have to look at Reservoir they sold the farm to buy a premiership and where are they now?

That's true but the drop off rate from under 15 to 19's is huge,there is not an endless supply of young footballers anymore

Agree, the young talented players don't want to stay around a div 3 club, therefore move on, and making the seniors have less to choose from.

Banyule are 1-3 but they will come good, they could easily be 1-3.

St Mary's are the side that are seriously surprising me. 4-0 after winning only 5 games last year.

South morang too strong against poor Epping, both reserves and seniors ahead all day, that dodgy one point loss in the prelim. Final Last year gave the boys extra incentive. Don't count them out of the four just yet. We just need to work on some goal kicking skills.

Round 5 Tips:
Watsonia v Epping
Huge game, Watsy can go 2 games clear in the 4 with a win and Epping can cement their spot in it for the time being if they prevail.
Will be a tight contest but I think the Saints play their dung heap too well.
Watsonia by 19.

Heidelberg West v South Morang
Time for South to get their first BIG win of the year, they'll bully West all day. Could get very ugly.
South Morang by 140.

Kilmore v Banyule
The bears make their way up to Kilmore and if all goes to plan should collect their 2nd win for the year. If Epping lose the Bears will be in the 4 by rounds end. Could easily by 5-0 and with Heidelberg West and Kilmore their only scalps the Bears still have a lot to prove.
Banyule by 86.

Mernda v St Marys
If you said these two teams would be facing off in a 1st v 2nd match at the start of the year most would've laughed. The Burra have been a revelation and Mernda just keep winning. Experience in Mernda versus the speedy Burra. Makes for an enthralling contest.

Saw Morang play for a half, too slow to be a genuine contender one feels a few blokes playing off reputation. The Westy boys took it to them surprised to see end shoreline. Epping bounced back to potent up forward, it's going to be hard to pick a winner so far out, st Marys are a lock for the 4 who else makes it? Mernda and Epping locks Watsy Morang Banyule fighting for 4th? What a cracker season
