I trained with mernda for a few weeks this pre season and found fordy to be a good bloke with plenty of knowledge

Merndas no3 Gollege what an absolute flog. Carrying on a like a pork chop. Very undisciplined. Morang really hitting their straps at the right time. Big crowd. Shelton tore it up out of middle and youngsters no 8 & 10 ran riot all day. H. Ryan showed his class today

Well done to the 4 sides who've made it

Watsonia to finish top after a rocky start is a real credit to themselves, I think they're the best 'team' in the Comp, doesn't mean they aren't beatable.

Epping have been consistently good all year and they'll give this finals series a shake. Wood and Judd very important for them.

Morang have hit there straps at the perfect time and I predict that they'll play whoever wins the 1st semi in the granny. Very hard at the contest and the most dangerous forwards in the league.

And well done to the burra who looked gone two weeks ago after the south Morang drubbing. They deserved to make it this year beating mernda on all three occasions. I don't think they'll do much this year mainly due to the fact that they run into south first week but a bright future ahead.

Watsonia to beat Epping by a goal or less.

South to beat the burra by 40-50

Looks as though the Bears have moved on Plant. Advertising for coach applications. Somebody was always going to take the fall after being the early premiership favourite and only managing to beat Kilmore and West. He might be a bit stiff as the problems can't be just the coach

I think you'll find it is in every clubs constitution that they have to advertise the coaching position each year, whether or not they intend to reappoint the existing coach

Lookin at the fixtures for the weekend, is that final that St Marys and South play reserves Saturday and Seniors sunday at Whittlesea? I would have thought that they would Play on same day either Saturday or Sunday?

I am sure that when this has occurred with Snrs & Reserves playing on the same weekend, but different days the league has moved games so the teams play the same day. I know one club requested a change but the league refused. There is no logical reason why they made their decision, except to gouge more money out of the Club's supporter, who now have to travel both days.

NFL it is not too late to change your thinking? or how about those supporters that attend on Saturday being able to use their ticket to gain entry on Sunday!

just my thoughts I reckon playing coaches are not the way to go in the modern game anymore as there is too much going on with the bench now and unless you have a very good and strong assistant coach to take charge of the line coaches it all gets too hard. I have seen teams beaten by coaching bench getting lost as the playing coach is making moves on the ground and the bench is scrambling too catch up. I think a very good non playing coach is the way to go

The prospect of a 9 time competition in division 3 looks like it will go ahead, laurimar have appointed a senior coach and it sounds like reservoir are tracking along well with a 2015 premiership reunion/ past player day coming up in the horizon and it sounds like they have been interviewing coaches also. Interesting that a club that has folded twice in about 10 years can re-boot so easily?

Great news for Banyule, hopefully Laurimar will struggle and the mighty Bears get to play them 3 times as well as Kilmore and West , that's 9 wins there and if Ressa make a come back and are no good there might be another 3 wins there. That's 12 and a certainty for finals in 2017, exciting time at the Brockwell stadium.
