With players from the Riverina it's going to be more about making sure GWS have to bid as much as possible instead of picking up a player from that region. We can throw our best pick at Marshall but if GES want him and come up with a package of 2nd and 3rd-round picks that outbid us then they get him. Their first bid, which would be Collingwood's will trump us anyway.

Didn't know that. But there is still the academy system with other players which means GWS have first-round selections with late pick packages. The AFL should have allowed us to hold onto our original country zones in 1997 so that we could build talent and bring in players in that way. We would have got ourselves to AFL standard but not fallen off as we did after 2007.The AFL took away GWS's access of Marshall. He is not one of their academy players.
Kinda moves & marks a bit like a young Hoff maybe it's just the build ie. no shoulders.. nice hands though.Todd Marshall
With Jay nearing the end and Westy at 30 (only got 5 or so years left in him) a KPF will be on the radar.
I remember wanting to rookie him in his draft year. Seemed a good development prospect, with losing weight the only obstacle. If Willie Rioli is picked up in the draft Bruce's brain might explode.
Todd Marshall - a snippet of Kenny in the first video.

Is Bruce a Hawthorn supporter? I was watching a 2009 Port v Hawthorn match and Cyril was playing well and Bruce was gushing over him nearly as much as he does now.

Nice kicking action as well. Marks the ball at the highest point which is a talent in itself. Looks a solid prospect and should be around at our first pick.Looks like he has a strong pair of hands. Leads well too.

We' ve had some poor picks, but are yet to stoop to a Lozza Angwin selection. Here's hoping that any drafting of a KPF is more efficient than it has been in the past. I still shudder at some of the drafting we have done in the past with intended KPF players. Looking back on our drafting to 1998 the KPF's that we have taken have been Adam Morgan(37-1999), Barry Brooks(15-2001), Ryan Willits(19-2004), Justin Westhoff(71-2006), John Butcher(8-2009), Daniel Stewart(promoted rookie-2009), Mason Shaw(30-2012), Mitchell Harvey(45-2013), Dougal Howard(56-2014). This is not to say that all of these have been unqualified disasters, the ones that played none or very few games are in bold. Butcher and Howard had injuries and Stewart was in the team during our worst period.
At least with Barry Brooks we managed to pull off some good trading instead of just delisting him for nothing.
I really hope he is, but i'm starting to think he won't be.
Played footy with T Stengle at Magpies and Eagles for 4-5 years. Will be a gun and hope he gets picked up
Just looking at a couple of the phantom drafts Marshall looks like he could go top 5!
What do you think of Josh Battle, Macca? Could he be a Jack Darling type?
Knightmare thinks we could bid on Brad Scheer from GC Academy. Any chance? Worth it?
Interestingly Callum Twomeys top 20 draft prosepts doesn't feature all Australians Graham, Sharenburg and Battle.
With some clever trading maybe we could land all 3 ? Or maybe Twomeys got no idea.
It's a good draft and there's probably 35 players that would look alright in a top 20 list.
I don't have Graham in my top 40. He is the Larke medallist and had a good champs but I think there's genuine queries over whether his style of game can transfer to AFL footy. He could be the next Sam Mitchell and his lack of leg speed won't be an issue. Or he could be the next Daniel Elstone. He does have a lot going for him though.
so who is your #1 target for us at them moment assuming the ladder stays as it is now.
