I think that's a pretty naive and simplistic point of view.

When he did it at Bolton the Sky 4 was still a thing. Now there’s a clear top 6

So yeah things do in fact change.

P.S. it was 8th, 6th, 8th and 7th under Allardyce

Top 8 not Top 6, apologies. Regardless, it evidences that a club with finance can produce good performances and results under Allardyce. When there was a clear top 6 and Martinez got Everton to 5th was that an imposssibility?

Football has moved on since that time. Has Alladyce? His record is more miss than hit since he left Bolton.

Everton have taken a gamble. They were probably actually worried about going down with this group when they hired Sam. They obviously felt he would have the experience to keep that from happening, but going forward I can’t see him being able to break them into the top six let alone top four. If the board are ruthlessly ambitious they should sack him in the summer, but that in all honesty would be ethically wrong

There’s no denying city’s class but they are getting the rub with their offside trap exploitation

The got two goals that way and nec Minnit a burnley player is similar and it’s ‘offside’

The day Spurs sacked him was a sad one indeed. Funniest manager outside of LVG
