My main prediction is that Wigg will be delisted at the end of the year, having never made his AFL debut.
You may be right, but I hope not. I think he's shown enough to deserve a chance to prove (or fail to) what he can do. Even if he is delisted, he could go on to have an AFL career elsewhere, like Wright and Curnow. Didn't you say CEY would be delisted last year?

Sucks for Hampton, he was really starting to hit his straps. The current ETA has him coming back right before the finals, and if we're going strong at that point he might struggle to get back in. What a waste of a season :(

Mackay currently has his spot, but hopefully if they'll be looking to give it to Knight as soon as possible. And I'd still like to see Wigg get a go at some stage...

At the moment our depth midfielders (not counting Knight who should be back in the 22 soon enough) with any remote possibility of playing are Thompson, Wigg, Poholke, and I suppose Beech. The other 2016 draftees besides Poholke don't look anywhere near it, and I hesitate to nominate Gore as any realistic chance. Wouldn't want too many more midfield injuries...

Why do you keep peddling this bullshit that Mackay has moved to the inside to replace Hampton? It's farcical.

Menzel, Seedsman, Gov all 1-2 weeks away will leave us with a very small injury list! Going to be very hard to push for spots i think we might not have a place for the Seed. Gov has to come back in though

He can always replace this guy

Agreed, would love to have the seed in for Mackay, have Cheney and Kelly fighting for the spare back, Hampton and Milera/Greenwood/Knight for a spot with a view to retire Douglas inside a year, and Otten essentially being relegated to filling in back or forward when there's an injury, which likely means he's playing half the year.

Check out Campo's face light up (around 7:30) when it's mentioned that Paul Sleevesman isn't far off. Have we all forgotten the Smith and Seedsman combo last year? I'm actually giddy at the prospect of having Paul back in the 22.

I'm not peddling anything. Mackay came in for Hampton. It's not necessarily a one-for-one direct swap, but his entry came in on the back of the Hampton injury. If Hampton had a miracle recovery before last weekend's game, Mackay wouldn't have been brought back in.

Not sure what your problem with that statement is.

Well, I could be mistaken. Grigg OTOH is a good example of a player who had his chances and wasn't good enough. No complaints there.

Disagree that he had his chances. Had a good string of games with walshy and was playing well.

Also had a good run in 2015 at the end of the year and once again played well. Especially between rounds 17-20. He was sub a lot as well. He got injured at wrong times. There was the trampoline incident just as he was going good where he was injured.

More likely to follow Grigg back to the SANFL.

No, because he had a contract for 2017. I'm far from convinced that he'd still be on an AFL list if he weren't already contracted.

He really didn't. Mackay replaced Gallucci, as the outside runner. Greenwood moved to the midfield, replacing Hampton. JJ returned to the forward line, replacing Greenwood at that end of the ground.

The sub rule was the best thing that ever happened to Grigg's career. The coaches' desire to avoid having players selected as sub for multiple weeks running meant that Grigg was rotated into the side on a regular basis, with Lyons being rotated out. Lyons would have played more games, and Grigg less, if it weren't for the sub rule.

12 Weeks? Is this guys unlucky when it comes to injuries? Like, when he gets an injury, it will be one of the worse case scenarios and never one of the best? Damn it, damn it damn it!

Mitch has his own business which apparently was taking off, that played a part apparently with him not pursuing an AFL career. Wigg will still be at the AFC next year so doesn't really matter.
Chicken/Egg. You say Grigg didn't pursue an AFL career because of his business, I'd argue that he pursued the business career because he knew his AFL days were coming to an end.

Curious to know why you think Wigg will be at the AFC next year? He's out of contract. I would have thought that Thompson, Shaw, and Gore are the only players less likely to be on our list in 2018. Wigg would be on the next rung, alongside CEY.

Grigg is not the only young player who has walked away from the AFL and pursue another career. There's been a number of them over the last few years.

You say that you'd "argue that her pursued the business career because he knew is AFL days were coming to an end"

Fact is neither of us know enough about Mitch's situation to win any "argument" regarding his motivations and neither am I interested in arguing it.

Because Mackay doesn't have his spot. It's a factually incorrect statement and one that you've gone out if your way to make more than once. Mackay replaced Gallucci's role in the team much more than he replaced Hampton's. Hampton's role was covered by Greenwood and extra work from others already in the 22. Mackay took Gooch's spot.

“Unfortunately, Browny received a knee in the cheekbone in the Geelong match,” Hass said.

“After investigation, it showed that there was a little crack in there that required surgery.

“The prognosis for Browny is that we expect him back shortly after the (Round 13) bye.”

Lever will be fine, McGovern and Seedsman you'd think will play SANFL this week

Well, time for Doedee to debut. A shame for Brown though, I've liked his recent midfield cameos and would like us to persist with that.

*in before marty states a teenager beat him against Glenelg.

did anyone see Brown's injury? if he played the game out thats a gutsy effort!

I thought he did well on Duckwood when he went to him

Mackay to slide back to defence to cover Brown's role? Have said before that nothing occurs at the club that doesn't have direct personal benefit to Mackay.
