Liam Pickering on AFL nation before the Saints/Dogs game said that Hampton was out for 12 with a pin in his ankle??
Well that really sucks, as he was only just getting his 1st decent block of AFL games in a while.

Will make it hard to get back for finals match fit.

Sad news for Curtly Hampton , was really hoping this year to be his breakout. Head down and work hard and hopefully a spot is his in the Finals

If he's out for 12 weeks I'd think a return for finals would only happen if we copped some injuries. 12 weeks basically puts him out until mid-to-late August.

Then he'd need a couple of weeks in the SANFL and have to rely on someone getting hurt to have a chance to get back into the team (as he's not an automatic selection like a Sloane, Talia or Jacobs).

I doubt Hampton out for 12 was either. Or McGovern. Plans change.
I think we're still about 5 injuries away from seeing Wigg's name on the selection sheets.

The only question is whether Thommo is named ahead of him... and I don't expect to see Thommo named at all this year (not even a farewell game).

McGovern was 3-5 weeks last week too :(

At least it didn't go up I guess

You don't think we need the depth if nothing else?

+1

In September you need a strong squad of up to 30 imo where the depth players can come in a fill a role in a moments notice.

I would say we do have coverage for every position, bar Sloane.

Sucks for Hampton, he was really starting to hit his straps. The current ETA has him coming back right before the finals, and if we're going strong at that point he might struggle to get back in. What a waste of a season :(

Mackay currently has his spot, but hopefully if they'll be looking to give it to Knight as soon as possible. And I'd still like to see Wigg get a go at some stage...

At the moment our depth midfielders (not counting Knight who should be back in the 22 soon enough) with any remote possibility of playing are Thompson, Wigg, Poholke, and I suppose Beech. The other 2016 draftees besides Poholke don't look anywhere near it, and I hesitate to nominate Gore as any realistic chance. Wouldn't want too many more midfield injuries...
