So small Defender is not on Height then?
A defender is a defender. Being able to cover talls or smalls is what defines what type of a defender you are. Clement was not short but was able to play tall or short. As was toovey. So your height is secondary to the type of defender you are.

Not imo. It's more to do with the type of player you play on and the style of player you are. I reckon mediums need to be able to play on talls. I can't see Murray doing that. Plus he seems a line breaking ground level player. So to me he plays small. Same as Crisp, who is 190cm, but plays like a small defender.

Murray is NOT a Small Defender at 187/188cm. Medium Defender like Howe and Scharanberg(Though they don't have the Speed of Murray). Also Langdon and Maynard and Smith.

Doubt we would need more of Those
We need speed out of the backline. A player who takes the game on. Lumumba performed this role well for us. Hunt is a menace at Melbourne with his speed. Shaz isn’t providing us with any of that, nor is Howe.

To a certain point. You wouldn’t expect a 185cm player to look after a 195cm KPF for example. There’s a certain point that height becomes relevant.

Agreed. You wouldn’t have Blair in the back line for example. But that’s more the exception than the rule. Rampe for example is 189 and yet he would stand a Hawkins or Daniher. However we are now getting into the semantics and no one has fun there.

Brander doesn't fill me with confidence, but the other two look the goods to me (from limited viewing).

I just watched some highlights again of Fogarty and I must say he looks the goods and would fill a need for us up forward.....he has now jumped to number 1 on my list.

Who will Freo take with 2 and 5? Will have a big impact on who is still available at our pick.

Not liking what people are saying about us taking Naughton at 6 with his poor kicking.

Hopefully they go with best available at 2 and try and fill a need with 5. Will potentially enable us to get the fifth most talented player in the draft pool.

If we get one of Fogarty or Coffield I'll be stoked from what I've seen.

I reckon having Fogarty will mean we've got 2 JDGs going forward.

You’d think a midfielder + Naughton.

Do we have enough Ben's in the team going into the draft? Do we need to load up on Bens?
We’ve really dropped off with our Ben rate since our flag team of 2010. Ben Sinclair’s career is hanging by a thread. Maybe bringing in an additional pick from the Swans (pick 70) allows us to us 65 on a Ben?

That and I doubt the AFLW is a full time job yet. They'd be able to go to school, work and play footy at the same time.

The girls are not fully professional, and their formal training commitments and club requirements are much less than the senior men's. The draft, while a distraction for those in their last year of school, doesn't interfere with them finishing their exams (for those who are school age).

I reckon Coffield is more your typical half back. I see him as more of a ground level player than third tall intercept. He'd progress to midfield in time but could start from year one at half back.
With Coffield, being a back flanker type, who does he replace there though to play straight up

Maynard who goes to midfield. Maynard replaces Greenwood who goes to the VFL. There isn't a lot of competition back there. We were playing Thomas at back pocket at one point late in the season.

It'd look like this:

FB: ~ Howe ~ Dunn ~ Crisp
HB: ~ Shaz ~ Reid ~ Coffield

Int: Varcoe or Murray.

Hopefully McLarty can start to pinch a few games off Dunn towards the end of the year. Otherwise we're in trouble when he retires.

I hope we start giving McLarty a few games this season.
