ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Raiders and CB Eli Apple were unable to finalize their agreement, and that Apple has returned to the open market.
It is unclear if the hangup was physical or financial. Apple was reportedly set to make $6 million on a one-year pact. Considering the bizarre climate amidst the coronavirus pandemic, there could be a few more reported deals that fail to come to fruition. With much of the money now spent, Apple will have a difficult time matching that number on try No. 2. Still only 25 in August, there should still be no shortage of teams interested in turning around the No. 10 overall pick's career.

Rams announced DT Michael Brockers passed his physical.
It's a significant development since Brockers' deal with the Ravens fell through amid increasing concerns about his physical following a high-ankle sprain suffered last season. With Los Angeles familiar with both the 29-year-old interior threat and his injury, it only makes sense Brockers landed a three-year deal to re-join the team 11 days later. He'll start alongside free agent pickup NT A'Shawn Robinson and All-Pro Aaron Donald this upcoming season.

The Houston Chronicle reports the Texans have had talks about signing free agent Eric Reid.
Reid was released by the Panthers last month but hasn't been linked to any teams. He has ties to Houston, where his brother Justin has been a starter the past two seasons. Reid struggled in coverage last year but had a career-high 130 tackles. He should resurface on a one-year deal.

Chiefs signed TE Ricky Seals-Jones to a one-year contract.
Seals-Jones spent 2019 in a committee role with the Browns despite David Njoku missing most of the season. He set a career best with four touchdowns but was also held catchless in 7-of-16 games. Seals-Jones will replace Demetrius Harris in Kansas City as the No. 2 tight end behind Travis Kelce.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent WR Antonio Brown hired Ed Wasielewski of EMG Sports as his new agent.
EMG Sports is home to notable NFL players such as Colts RB Nyheim Hines, Dolphins OT Julién Davenport and ex-Giants LB Nate Stupar. AB continues to pop up in the news on a routine basis. Last week alone we had a cameo with Lamar Jackson as well as a legal update from his January arrest. Brown hasn't remained out of the headlines much for the better part of the last few years. We wouldn't expect that to change anytime soon.

Speaking Tuesday, Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff said Todd Gurley has yet to pass a physical, but that the team is confident he will.
Dimitroff confirmed there is language in Gurley's contract that protects the team. “When he passes our physical,” Dimitroff emphasized. "We looked closely at it," Dimitroff continued. "We're not looking at it that way." At this point, it is extremely unlikely the deal will fall apart. The Falcons knew what they were getting into when they took the flier. That being said, they will probably still add another body to their post-Devonta Freeman backfield.

FOX's Jay Glazer reports new Cowboys LB Aldon Smith currently weighs 287 pounds.
Per Glazer, who has also been serving as one of Smith's trainers, that is by design. Smith, who has not played since 2015, was mostly recently listed at 265 pounds in the NFL. "We trained him and got him up (from 260) to about 287 pounds, completely rocked up, solid as can be, very low body fat," Glazer gushed. "He has trained his butt off. His conditioning is great. ... He is just freaking monstrous." Smith, who is going on 31, has always been a rare athlete. Even on the wrong side of 30, he could be an immediate difference maker for the Cowboys if he finally has his personal life in order.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo believes the odds that free agent Jadeveon Clowney re-signs with the Seahawks are "slim to none."
"I don't know if he's going to be back in Seattle," Garafolo said in a radio interview before ratcheting up the certainty. "The chances are slim to none." Clowney has already had to lower his asking price, but it seems that ship has sailed between both sides. There has been increasing chatter that Clowney could wait months to sign. The Seahawks got a trade bargain on Clowney last year. Perhaps they will come through again if Clowney's demands continue to recede.

If you account for dropping the fat he's probably put on at least 40 pounds of muscle....has he been subject to league drug testing whilst out of the league? Just asking.

Good get by my Chiefs.

Chiefs signed RB DeAndre Washington, formerly of the Raiders, to a one-year contract.

Washington, who has averaged 3.4 yards per carry since 2017, will compete for backup duties behind Super Bowl star Damien Williams. In Oakland, Washington was primarily used as a rotational third-down back. He caught 36-of-41 targets for 292 yards last season and figures to be a low-volume check-down option in 2020 for former Texas Tech teammate Patrick Mahomes. Washington will have to beat out second-year pro Darwin Thompson to be on the fantasy radar.

It's amazing that there are still a number of big name players still lingering free agency. Last years off-season the big name players were getting snapped up quickly, day one of the new season. And the FA pool dried up quickly.

But this year, theres so many. Like ok Mariota got snapped up quick, but the better (big play) Winston still is getting no interest. Neither is Newton. You have Clowney. Just to name a few. Those caliber players can immediately upgrade ones roster. Eg, teams starving off pass rushers. Teams with an obvious need at QB for the long term (Steelers).

I bet the FA pool is actually more shocking, more full of big names, i just being lazy not checking.

So many big names that would significantly upgrade various teams, and fans screaming about needing help at various positions....

They forgot to put Mike Glennon?

A LOT of guys 30+ in that list. I reckon teams are waiting until after the draft now to see what holes they need to fill.

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano doesn't expect the Giants to re-sign free agent DE Markus Golden.
Golden priced himself out of New York after posting 10 sacks in a rebound 2019. He hasn't come close to the $10 million AAV he's seeking, but the Giants don't have the cap space to bring him back. Despite a slow market, Golden should land a multi-year contract after playing last season on a prove-it deal.
