It looks like 2 of the 3 primetime games nextweek will be Miami/Buffalo on SNF, Colts/Texans Saturday. and if the Vikings win i can see the Lions/Vikings being the other Saturday game.
Whoever wins tonight will probably be the other Saturday game

In the first play Reynolds is not covering the LT. It looks that way, kinda, but hes actually a yard back from the center, the ball, his helmet behind the shoulders of the LT. Thats part of the trick of the design, to appear covering the LT but actually not By rule, a total of seven players including two eligible receivers have to be ON or close NEAR the LOS. They have seven players serving that 7 line of scrimmage rule. The WR far to the right is on the LOS as part of the 7, and the slot is as far behind the RT as Reynolds is the LT.

So the four players considered behind the LOS are Reynolds, that slot on the right, the QB and the RB. As Reynolds is not covering the LT it means the LT is eligible, whereas the RT is ineligible being covered by the WR to the far right.
My mistake - should have looked at it a bit more closely in terms of the markings on the field etc.

On the bolded bit - isn't this negated by the fact that the refs are meant to tell pretty much the entire world who has been nominated as an eligible receiver?

Packers/Bears will be a 1PM game.

Rams/9ers now becomes a meaningless game 9ers have the 1 seed locked up and Rams are the 6 so both could rest.
They might just go a rivalry game for the other Saturday game since no other games really have win and in.

No longer rivalry than bears packers. 🤣🤪

How is the week 18 schedule not even known, the individual game matchups ???
Full schedule will be announced after SNF.
It will be a hard one, because a few games look like they could be good but one or both teams have nothing to gain so can just rest players [9ers/Rams and Ravens/Pitt]

Both NFC East games will be at the same time one on CBS the other on Fox. i would guess both 1PM games

bears are still mathematically in???
Mathematically yes
need a
- Packers/Vikings Tie

Week 18
  • Arizona over Seattle
  • Lions over Vikings
  • Bears win
  • Falcons over Saints [or Panthers over Bucs]

Yes. Same as why did the Lions even try to trick the defense by sending multiple OL to the ref to confuse the D who is reporting eligible. In the end, the ref reveals who is reporting eligible, so big fuss for nothing.

Im guessing how the refs messed it up..... 68 reported eligible but the side judge considered Reynolds as covering the LT so nullifying that, making Reynolds the eligible???

See....minimum 5 players who do not run a route have to be on the LOS (ineligible) with the two eligible on either side of the line and on or close near the LOS covering up an ineligible. But you can have more than 7.

All that matters is 5 must be ineligible, not running routes, and two other eligibles - one covering the left side and one covering the right side. If a player with numbers 50-79 intends to run a route then he must report eligible, AND, actually line up in an eligible spot.

This is where i sit. everyone f**ked up, the refs the most. but the Lions tried to confuse Dallas and confused the refs and then quick snapped with 20 on the playclock. so had time to make sure the ref got the numbers right before going into formation.

and the Dallas D were covering the extra OL to the right who was actually ineligible. Which seems to be that the refs announced the wrong numbers.

How would they have known the ref had it wrong? Brad Allen nodded at Decker when he reported, and the Lions were in the huddle (presumably making sure everyone knew where to line up/to get the motion right etc) when the announcement was made over the stadium PA.

The * up is Brad Allen's, and basically his alone
