Even way back in the day when only the VFA was on Sundays Mothers Day crowds were always down 20 - 30% more if the weather was bad!

I'm shocked North Melbourne didn't get stitched up again this year like we have since 2016.

11.15 am Monday and three matches still have TBC for the crowds 2 at Marvel and the Adelaide Oval match.
Surely the jobs cuts are not that bad at the AFL that someone at AFL HQ at MARVEL Stadium cant find out on the day?

BTW there were 43,069 at the Port v Ade at Adelaide Oval according to Austadiums.

Yeah I don’t get it either. They’re posting the Marvel crowds on the scoreboard, the news platforms just don’t seem to publish the crowds. Marvel could help by tweeting its crowds👍

Every stadium has a Social media account so there has to be a designated person who updates these crowd numbers like the MCG does. No excuses tbh it’s a simple task.

You can even automate this via various applications and computer intelligence.

The AFL/Stadiums/clubs don't have to release crowds and such things sometimes needs to be "cleared" before releasing fully to the public.

the ticketing managers would not have much contact with the social media manager. Different responsibilities and priorities, especially on game day. Telling the public the crowd would be low on the list.

Fair to say that, MCG blockbusters aside, the AFL and their stadiums have lost interest in promoting their attendances?

The MCC hasn’t posted its forecasted attendances since the Women’s Cricket World Cup final

The GWS crowd is particularly bad considering it was against the bombers.
That Giants crowd was pathetic TBH. I get the COVID overlay but Essendon had a decent rollup today so you have to be honest and be concerned about the Giants pulling power of 5,000+ let’s be honest. That’s really poor on a sunny day.

22,000 at Marvel today isn’t much better.

Some poor crowds. About time the AFL have a bit of a deeper look to see if pricing and other mitigating factors can be tweaked to try and encourage the fans back to AFL grounds.
They were drawing 12-14,000 against the bigger Victorian teams in recent years. Assumption being they have around 8-10,000 of their own going to home games. Their numbers have fallen right off. More than other clubs it would seem.
Despite the hot air from some posters about a 3rd team in Sydney it will be many many years before that happens.

The crowds are all listed on the AFL Tables since this afternoon.

The Lions/Freo crowd was only 15k which seems surprisingly low. Even with COVID issues and reduced capacity wouldn't they be expecting a minimum of 20k to their home matches considering how well they're going?

Sunday twilight and Mothers Day would also have a big impact.

Only one game at the ‘G this week is odd.

Crowd prediction for Melbourne v Carlton should be interesting.

I think given restrictions, the AFl isnt overly concerned with promoting the figures.

Hoping for a healthy 27,574 type effort tonight from the Sainters & Cats fans
