Mate watch his kick after the siren from 2016, he runs right and hooks it, he has been doing for his whole career but did have a good patch ie the Geelong game last year.He started off running to the right last season, when he was out of the f50, going for goal. With the stand rule for players on the mark.
It has spread across his repertoire.
He also had success kicking round the corner when closer to goal.
These things are in his mind now. He should just run in at the goals, depending on any wind.
Max hasn't done a knee in like 8 yearsI think half of the clubs thinking is, if Maxy does another knee, we're in the shyte shooter.
Grundy doesn't leave us exposed in this scenario.

He did it from 20 metres out on Friday, if that's his limit we are in trouble. He's had a history of doing it, I do feel he had fixed it but he has reverted back to it more recently. Just run straight at the goals it's not that hard.

I don't agree with that. No one should have to run on an angle to kick. There's no way that improves the ball drop which is the main factor in your kick accuracyI think Max with the way he drops the ball needs to run slightly to the right as some players do.
At the moment he is waaay overdoing it as he used to. Back to being a liability in front of goal.
He can’t drop the ball straight mate so you have to have a slight angle on your leg to line up with the angle of the ball.I don't agree with that. No one should have to run on an angle to kick. There's no way that improves the ball drop which is the main factor in your kick accuracy
I don't agree with that still, no good kick at goal in history has kicked with an arc. Name any accurate goal kicker in history and it's compact and straight. No one field kicking goes around the corner, it's some bullshit stuck in their head.He can’t drop the ball straight mate so you have to have a slight angle on your leg to line up with the angle of the ball.
You’re right that nobody should have to do this but he’s not going to suddenly learn to drop it straight at this point in his career.
He definitely shouldn’t be running the arc he is at the moment tho
His issue is that he doesn’t guide the ball to his foot. Never has, never will. Thank Christ he kicked that goal against Geelong last year in the last home and away game.He can’t drop the ball straight mate so you have to have a slight angle on your leg to line up with the angle of the ball.

Bit similar to Fritsch in build but good player that would improve our forward line. Be surprised if Collingwood don’t lock him down though. Is Oliver Henry one that may be benefit us?
Too many watching Matt Suckling highlights.I don't agree with that still, no good kick at goal in history has kicked with an arc. Name any accurate goal kicker in history and it's compact and straight. No one field kicking goes around the corner, it's some bullshit stuck in their head.
He can flush them but it's like no one is even trying to help him. Every one of us can see he's struggling and needs help but it looks like he's figuring it out on his own in game. Remember when Nick Riewoldt was kicking badly and he went through a phase of not even looking at the goals just watching his ball drop the whole way? It wasn't perfect but atleast him an the coaches were working on something to get a routine and better ball drop.I agree with you on his action Topkent, but he's 30 and that isn't going to change. He's never been an amazing kick, but when he's confident he can pick them. He's clearly low on confidence with the syndesmosis, so he's arking even more than usual. When he's up and about, he can flush those kicks.
He's learned to run on a 15m arc and kick it on the full so I agreeI disagree with the notion of can't teach an old dog new tricks, you can (proven on mythbusters). Gawn can get his kicking right, he just needs to learn to run straight for starters.

Pretty sure buddy's statistically the worst of the top goalkickers for accuracy. Wanna guess why?Buddy is a pretty good kick with an arc.
But we’re not talking about good kicks, we’re talking about Max who drops the ball from a great height and on an angle. He just needs to find a way to make it work
Yeah I’d guess it’s because he doesn’t take contested marks and has a shitload of shots from 50m+, tight angles and snaps compared to Plugger, Dunstall etc. Buddy is a lovely kick.Pretty sure buddy's statistically the worst of the top goalkickers for accuracy. Wanna guess why?
He doesn't need to. Its a fugazy as Goody would say. Go watch the after the siren kick again and tell me why he needs to run on an angle from 20m out.
Lol buddy's not even close to the same accuracy as those blokes were mate. He's a beautiful kick from 50 no doubt but he's as Shakey as anyone 20m out and it's because of his stupid arc.Yeah I’d guess it’s because he doesn’t take contested marks and has a shitload of shots from 50m+, tight angles and snaps compared to Plugger, Dunstall etc. Buddy is a lovely kick.
Anyway if you want to bet that Gawn could be taught to come in with a lovely straight run up and drop it straight and kick it straight then fill your boots. I think he’s best off focusing on getting back to his style from earlier this year

No arc here. Straight run up and straight kick. There's no way his best option is to arc 15m out for a kick that's 20m out directly in front that's just bad technique all round and for a tall bloke makes the ball drop even harder.
Hasn't kicked more goals than points since 2018. He had a hot streak in a prelim and that's it. His kicking has other wise been poor and it's that god awful technique
Except it wasn't modest earlier this year it was pronounced he was just confidentGo back and look at my original post mate, i specifically said he shouldn’t be running a massive arc like he has been.
He kicked for goal best when he had a modest one earlier this year and it’s doubled in size since then
