On paper Bayern have a pretty good squad.

Front 3 and CBs particularly strong.

They need to move on from Neuer, Muller & guys like Choupo Moting. But the base is there for a strong team.
On paper sure. But the collective unity isn’t there. Neuer and Müller are far more important than Kimmich, Goretzka and Sane, who bring poor mentality to the squad. Upamecano is very sketchy for his price tag. De Ligt is good but never plays. They’re absolutely not the Bayern of the mid 2010’s

Great. Now we have a lame duck manager for the rest of the season. Surely even a caretaker manager is better than a guy who seems to have alienated half the squad.
(Happy to eat my words if we win the Champions League and/or finish ahead of Leverhusen).

You would've just about crowned Leverkusen if Kane hadn't scored that late goal

To show how well Leverkusen are playing.
Bayern have more points than this time last season and only need to win 5 of the last 12 matches to reach the points they won last seasons league title with.

Yet would likely need to win out from here to have any chance of winning the league.

Bayer Leverkusen has more points right now than Bayern Munich managed last seasons. There are 7 matches to go. Really impressive season they are having.
They probably still love it because they halt Bayern, but Dortmund has been unable to beat for so long is probably cost them multiple titles and the one year it doesn't matter they slap em

Last time Dortmund won at Bayern was 2014. We could always count on a home win against Dortmund but even that's too hard now.

I gotta add, it's great seeing Alonso doing well as a manager, but how many times have Leverkusen bailed themselves out with goals in injury time? It's like the Collingwood comebacks of the last two years. Can't be sustainable?
