Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

The loss today was a really honourable loss, but makeshift smalls like Switta and the inconsistency due to the age of Sonny will hold us back - IF we don’t trade in or trade in a quality small forward like a Brockman or Collard.
Sturt was super impressive off the ball and provided so many repeat efforts highlighted our lack of quality

I dont want to lose Darcy, I think he's a gun just hitting his prime age and I think it's a terrible reflection on culture if we do lose someone like him. However, at least if we did lose him we'd have Jackson who is going to be some kind of ridiculous beast when he hits 24, which ever position he plays

Jackson is in ripping form but the combination of Darcy and Jackson is unstoppable when you have the correct pieces around them.

Feel it’s up to Darcy, but after losing so many last year?
Destination clubs don’t have players walking out.
We all saw what the Dees achieved in a GF, and our rucks haven’t even
peaked yet.
Losing Henry would be bad enough, but I think we can add another mid
and a couple of small forwards to propel us back into finals.
If we had a decent mix forward we could be onto something special.
But patience isn’t a game Freo play.
Sanchez and Collard, another Balla-Walters mix.

Thought our talls brought it to ground reasonably well today when the delivery wasn’t completely sh**e tbh.

Even the best contested marks in the league clunk them at less than 30%.

Western Bulldogs beat Richmond by 55 points on Friday night and took 8 contested marks all game. It isn’t as big a part of the game as many people think it is.

More than confident Amiss, Treacy and Jackson can hold their own there once Darcy gets back into the side next year. I wouldn’t mind eventually having another good tall outside the best 22 but outside of that it’s the least of my concerns from a list management perspective.

I'd want a top ten pick and another pick in the teens for Darcy, probably top five, pick #15 and a second given he is in contract.

And that's too much for anyone to trade.

I would give a top ten pick for him. I know it ain't happening cause he is contracted but if we could somehow get Gold Coast's top pick... Imagine Bolton and Jackson in the side.

We cant afford Bolton's contract - not for the output, it's a mill a year on average.

I actually thought Pearce was ok and not deserving of the criticism he got and I think people on here expect the backline to be perfect at all time BUT I've pivoted. If I could get any one WA player in the AFL the next couple of years it would be Sam Taylor

We didn’t even get a single behind from our midfielders today unless you want to give them Luke Jackson.

Anyway that is a serious problem for the team this season.

We’re probably 3-4 goals away from where we need to be. At least half of that needs to come from the midfield. I can actually see our current group of forwards improving by 1-2 goals a game more than our midfield tbh.

They've got Jamieson, AKA their version of Jackson (according to the West LOL)
