I feel like Longmuir is trying to make them an attacking outfit but he doesn't really know how.

Last year they tried being very handball happy and play on at all costs but they did it wrong and were exposed on turnover a lot.

You looked pretty good, but I’ll agree reading too much in to pre season hit outs is dangerous.

I reckon the talent is there, the question is do you have the structure and the off field organisation to do it. I wouldn’t right them off at the moment, but I feel they have one of the bigger finishing position ranges going into this season - everything goes well, top 4 isn’t out of the question, few things go wrong, neither is bottom 4

Haven't you made this type of claim multiple times already?

I think most Hawks supporters would be a little disappointed but not the least bit discouraged if we missed finals this year.

I think most Hawks supporters would be pretty okay backing up a finals appearance with another finals appearance.

With natural improvement from the young players and the additions of Barrass and Battle, I think most Hawks supporters are daring to dream, and rightfully so, that we can go at least one better in 2025. One better is literally a preliminary final appearance.

Let's just wait and see how it unfolds.

Nothing wrong with Brisbane's age profile.

Zorko, Neale and Andrews have been extremely durable over the journey, and they have plenty of young talent coming through the ranks - Lohmann, the Ashcrofts, Morris, Coleman, Fletcher, etc.

If they don't contend again, age won't be the reason.

It's old. Not as old as Collingwood but still in the top 4 oldest. 5 of the top 10 in the B&F are 30+, 1 left who was their best KPF and a ruck option. They aren't going to fall off a cliff but a few key injuries to the wrong players could spell trouble.

We have two years in a row where the oldest team won the flag and failed to make the finals the following season. It's starting to become a trend and it will be interesting if Brisbane are young enough to escape the curse.

Agreed, you guys are strong and for the good of the league I think the Hawks should take a year off playing finals in 2025. The 2024 taste tester will do until 2026.

Why are Freo going to suddenly be good? Last I checked Longmuir was still coaching them.

I like what the Dockers are finally doing with their list after releasing experienced players and some bizarre trades in previous years.

I have them rising, but not sure they are a top 4 side just yet
