You seriously would want to haggle if it was a swap option?Sholl is worth more IMO. Hollands is worth nothing after Voss' comments

He will still have 2 to 3 years of quality left in him. We need to go all in as our window is open now.He does turn 30 this year.

Sholl will most likely be a delist - I doubt anyone is going to offer anything up for him, so if there was a chance to swap him for a currently very low value alternative, you bite their arm off for itYes. I wouldn't want to give away something of small value for something worth nothing

exactly. If I offered you the 2026 and 2027 flags with a fire sale required in 2029, what would your answer be? The goal is to win flags, sometimes risks need to be taken and sometimes they don't come off. If you refuse to go all in, you probably don't end up getting it done. I'm more than happy to roll the dice and if the end result is that we have to dump a couple of players due to a squeeze in the future, then so be it. We don't know for certain that every flag winning club wasn't sitting on a future time bomb but have managed their way out of it without resorting to a fire sale. Hell, Suns managed to get themselves in the predicament without ever having even played finals. Its likely a lot more common than you think it is.
both more likely to be delisted free agents tbh (yes I know contract status)Sholl is worth more IMO. Hollands is worth nothing after Voss' comments

exactly.
I'd rather be West Coast than us. Even though they are in the trenches right now, they still have the 2018 flag to fondly remember fresh in their minds.
It's an interesting question as to how much shit you'd put up with for a flag.
5 wooden spoons?
10?
At his very best, Sholl isn't a best 22 player for us. At his very best, I presume Hollands would actually be a best 22 player for us.He's contracted for next year and has played 79 solid games. Yes he can't crack into the firsts of the #1 team on the ladder, but he'd be a first 22 player in a number of other lower sides.
There are loads of worse players traded each year for 3rd rounders
We should have brought Butts back in against North.
I trust him a whole lot more than Murray in finals. Butts knows his limitations. Murray still makes crazy errors.
Yes if I could have guaranteed flags I would certainly do this. I am sure you can see what the issue is here though.
Reidy has recently said our intention is to create the longest possible premiership window so not sure how the backloading factors into this - and in reality lets leave it as its a little hypothetical and I am sure we will all be happy starting with one flag this year
Wouldn't call the Eagles a basket case. They're just soaking up draft pics atm.Getting TDK, Flying Ryan and SOS (rumoured) and keeping Nas has been a very good off season so far. Anything on top of that makes it next level inc Flanders. They have recruited well the last 4-5 years and do also have some young quality in their squad.
Not a basket case club like Weagles, Kangas and Power.
Use that 3rd rounder in a deal for Ah Chee…Sholl is worth more IMO. Hollands is worth nothing after Voss' comments

Sounds like every baby boomer politician for the last 30 years creating unsustainable debt that future generations will be crippled by! Re backloading, its not smart and removes a lot of flexibility in the future to look at picking up opportunities that may arise (ie try not to be 100% fully invested at any point). And fire sales getting cents in the dollar is a very silly list management posn to ever put yourself in
No current season stats available
Petracca and JHF at their best are a fair bit more impactful per possession than most of those mentioned there.Do we really want Oliver on 1m+ per year..
THE EIGHT WORST MIDFIELD KICKS IN THE GAME
1.Willem Drew
2.Adam Cerra
3.Clayton Oliver
4.Tim Kelly
5. Christian Petracca
6. Jason Horne-Francis
7. Zach Merrett
8. Jack Viney
*Based on kick ratings which factor in kick difficulty
So while Xavier Lindsay, Kozzie Pickett and Harvey Langford are the future as excellent kicks, how many terrible kicks can you have in your side?
On ratings points generated from a players’ kicks, no midfielder rated lower than Viney, contracted to 2028.
Oliver did appear to cover the ground much better in the last six weeks and had four 100-ranking point games in that time.
But last year he was the 244th rated player in the AFL and this year he improved only 12 spots to 232.
Given he and Petracca are worth over $1.5m a year in the back end of their contracts, it is hard to see how other sides would believe they are of good value.
It Thilthorpes the reward. You’d take 10!It's an interesting question as to how much shit you'd put up with for a flag.

What does Worrell do?Berry and we move Dawson into that Sicily type of role
Just as well they sacked Rutten lol...Jeez it must be hard being a Bombers fan at the moment. Team going crap, the shit Scott as your coach, all your good players want out and the only person looking to sign onto a longer contract is the shit Scott
Collingwood and Geelong are the only 2 VIC teams that look likely to compete for a flag in the remainder of Merretts career. St Kilda could join the chat if all this spending actually turns into on field performance (and that's a big IF in my opinion).Merrett is a Cobden lad, can’t see him leaving Victoria when every Vic club would want him.
