Give him the 46 in honour of Push Up as that speedy, defensive minded, line breaking half back!

exactly, not about him, he did not do the recruiting, pressure off not everyone expecting him to be a superstarThat’s the spirit. Kid hasn’t even got on the bus to Punt Rd are yet.

Sam just has to say don't blame me for recruiting stuff up
Sam would have come to Richmond at pick 60 if no other club wanted him for sure!
it would be dis-ingenuous to write Grlj is not top ten pick and then write it was a great pick after, that would make me a fraud in my book

I've been a huge fan of Kelly and always felt we needed a player like him.View attachment 2481656

#22 just feels right. Similar size, let’s hope Grlj can get as close as possible to Kelly’s level.
The old Jack Dyer two-handed footy grip...love it!View attachment 2481656

I think of Jordan Clarke and to be honest i wouldnt mind he gets to that level , My only issue is where we selected him was he the best available (Probably not) but we went best available at our pick for our needs and looked like the club did try to trade back but couldnt so it is what it is and move on.I think the best thing is that he's hard at the contest and a willing tackler. Most players who have his athletic attributes don't have that as part of their game.
You could see when he played for our VFL he made good decision by foot with the angle he chose instead of the usual long down the line stuff.
I see him more as a Stephen Hill than Butters in time.

It will be interesting to see in Twomey's behind the scenes article if we find out what some of the trade offers were. In hind site getting anything from the bombers or dees should have been a plus unless we had Intel they would have chosen Grlj with the picks in-between.I think of Jordan Clarke and to be honest i wouldnt mind he gets to that level , My only issue is where we selected him was he the best available (Probably not) but we went best available at our pick for our needs and looked like the club did try to trade back but couldnt so it is what it is and move on.
Not his fault where he gets selected so wish the kid all the best and hope he does become the next Butters
