A tad underwhelmed as the 4th overall pick in the open pool.

Even though the Norf death ride was great fun, realistically they could've finished a bit higher and we could've ended up with the same result and I would've felt more satisfied.

How does Grlj and FOS compare?
My points last year when we went with Lalor was that there are a lot of simular types to FOS every year. Lalor types are more rare.

Slot him in round 1 at half back and play him there for a couple of years before he is ready to break into the midfield. Will change the way we play completely with his running ability

Happy with Grilj. Will be interesting to see how it goes. His combo of speed sideways acceleration and endurance is elite. Does the tough stuff. So happy with his upside.

Interesting choices. I really get Grilj, his speed and endurance is amazing. Tough, good inside and decent skills, good leadership. So much to like. Fills a need and a pick for high end potential.

Happy with this pick. I preferred Grlj over Taylor as he fits our needs and I think his strengths also suit our game plan, the other areas he can work on like contest and stoppage over time.

I can see him in the midfield at centre bounce providing the speed we desperately need there and with his speed of the mark, you blink he's gone.

Said months ago that he’s the one I wanted. Richmond did an amazing job of not revealing who they wanted. Must say up to 5pm today I was in a chat with a few and saying a couple of player managers had no idea. Says a lot about our team.

Grilj is dynamite. I know club believe he will turn into a midfielder in time. His pace and endurance combo is unique. He will make things happen. Butters without the prolific element of possessions yet, but could come.

Excited to see how he develops. What a wonderful young man too. His reaction was beautiful.
