Hip surgery has robbed Murphy of punch''It was something from last year,'' Murphy said yesterday. ''I was just getting referred pain in the groin. I couldn't get any continuity in my training.''
''I was kicking more goals last year and having more impact. But I suppose coming from hip surgery in January and not having a pre-season, I think I've done pretty well.
''The last month has been better, kicking a goal a game and getting 25-30 [disposals]. I'm coming into some decent form at the right time.''
The final frontier for Marc Murphy"I didn't have a great preparation this year," Murphy said.
"I'm just starting to get my run back again now."
"I struggled to get out there for every session for the first 14 games," he said. "I would only go out there for a bit and do a few run-throughs. If it wasn't one thing, it was another. But I'm feeling a lot fresher now and it's starting to show in my game."
Harvey agreed. "It did affect him early on, but his last month has been as good as any player," he said.
"He is running much better as the year has gone on and that's surprised us a little because he didn't do a pre-season.
"His work ethic has allowed him to get through. He is at the stage where we now consider him in the elite running bracket of the AFL."

http://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/4311/newsid/106518/default.aspxWho's burning: Long-time fitness fanatic Andrew Walker continues to lead the way in pre-season time trials, but Mitch Robinson, Robbie Warnock, Chris Yarran, Marc Murphy and Bryce Gibbs have all caught the eye with some personal best efforts.

Marc Murphy to stay true Blue in Carlton deal"Of course I do, it's a great club and we're getting a group now which can push for premiership success over the next few years," he said.
"We've been through some pretty tough times and we're now getting some blokes in place, and also the structure with our coaches.
"I'm looking forward to being part of the club in the years ahead."
"My manager (Paul Connors) is talking to the club at the moment, so the ball is in their court, but right now I'm just worried about getting through pre-season."
"There's plenty of unfinished business here as far as I'm concerned."
Handing Murphy back to Chism may have paid off...

IIRC Murph got hammered a fiar bit in the Adelaide game......perhaps he copped a knock that has caused a niggle??
Maybe because there is nothing to tell us B4F?![]()
Here's hoping but C4 makes a compelling case.
