Did he?!?
this is a good summery ross is too slow and probably not football smart enough to be a champion mid bull, so tiger coaches wanted another string to his bow as an endurance brando type that we needed at the time. now macca and marls are holding the wing spots. ross can play as a pure mid but hopefully have that added experience as an outside runner to compliment his game, otherwise he may be tradeworthy in our pursuit of green/hopper. i get a similar vibe about jack graham being traded if we want green and/or hopper. we may need too offload 2 very serviceable players to get that upgrade we need.See I’m less sure on bits of this. I think the coaches always knew his best position but equally knew that if that’s the only place he was going to play he just wasn’t going to get AFL games (see RCD)
They tried to get him a bit more flexible so he could get into the senior team for more experience and the plan was always to get him back in the middle once a position opened up
Obviously don’t know any of that for sure but could understand if that was the approach taken
Can we pay for those two with Sheds and Lambert retiring and not trade?this is a good summery ross is too slow and probably not football smart enough to be a champion mid bull, so tiger coaches wanted another string to his bow as an endurance brando type that we needed at the time. now macca and marls are holding the wing spots. ross can play as a pure mid but hopefully have that added experience as an outside runner to compliment his game, otherwise he may be tradeworthy in our pursuit of green/hopper. i get a similar vibe about jack graham being traded if we want green and/or hopper. we may need too offload 2 very serviceable players to get that upgrade we need.

BTW Soldo was always going to be in the 23. Whether as medi sub or bench didn't matter.
Gold mate.Did Dimma tell you that??
Dimma's dog actuallyDid Dimma tell you that??
On punt road end the track watchers said he copped a heavy tackle, punched the ground and did light running afterwards during the training session on ThursdayWas Jack Ross withdrawn because he was ill or injured?
We had no size in the middle, RCD, whose tackling has been a strength in the VFL, would have been a better replacement than Dow.He's not an A1 mid but I think we missed him yesterday, he offers more than Dow at the moment and in a close game he might have made some sort of difference in the middle.
Dow might become a good player but he is an inside mid who likes to takes the tackler on, which is great because he has such good movement. But until he puts on some muscle, he will constantly get the ball stripped from him. Happened in the VFL last week, same last night. Ross was missed because he has the strength to stand up in tackles. He's not an A1 mid but I think we missed him yesterday, he offers more than Dow at the moment and in a close game he might have made some sort of difference in the middle.
Dow didn't get a lot of the ball, but won 6 clearances. He seems to take a game or two to adjust to the pace of AFL footy when we bring him in.Dow might become a good player but he is an inside mid who likes to takes the tackler on, which is great because he has such good movement. I think he is a great prospect because he takes the game and the tackler on and can work free. Great lateral movement. So while he gets his clearances he also gets the ball dislodged a fair few times as well. Inside mids are solid and strong in the arms, they have to be to hold on to the ball in the heat and not get it taken from you or knocked off balance. Right now both happen to him. Needs 5kg's of muscle and he will be a different player.Dow didn't get a lot of the ball, but won 6 clearances. He seems to take a game or two to adjust to the pace of AFL footy when we bring him in.
Dow dropped a ball the week before in the final minutes 20 out straight in front that would have sealed the game, was really suprised he came in as emergency after his last month in VFLMissed him, can safely say he’s well ahead of Dow who did fa and spilt a few clutch balls when heat was on
Given that dimma favours experience over youth , common with long term coaches , wtf didn’t Parker get a run off 28p at vfl ,,,,what about rcd relative to Dow , or alternately neither , go sonsieDow dropped a ball the week before in the final minutes 20 out straight in front that would have sealed the game, was really suprised he came in as emergency after his last month in VFL
Or over Aarts. Parker is a much better player and was probably our best in the VFL.Given that dimma favours experience over youth , common with long term coaches , wtf didn’t Parker get a run off 28p at vfl ,,,,what about rcd relative to Dow , or alternately neither , go sonsie
Did Dimma tell you that??
