Player Watch #50 Marlion Pickett

I think we're putting too much expectation on this guys to be the "missing link" and saying he will win us the flag.

Let's just let him settle in.
He’s definitely not going to be the missing link, if he plays which is very unlikely he will be the cherry on top.

If he can play VFL well enough to warrant being thought of for the AFL then I'll be very happy.

If he does actually play AFL then I'll be super stoked.

If he comes in and genuinely adds a point of difference to our firsts I'll just about explode.

If he does all that and we win the Premiership ….

Hey guys stop with the afl trying to stop the tigers conspiracy theories. The afl is not against us, we make them too many ch money when we’re wining. If Pickett is ready to play in 4 or five weeks time and Ross is just around the corner.....I’d say our only weekness will be our centre half backs lack of height. It’s going to be a killer team.
Common egg or Garth come up to speed.

Amen!
Put the conspiracy theories down to insecurity.

Correction: We make them money. Period.

The AFL are socialists who believe in equal outcome. They know we will bring in money regardless of our position so they've rather us be down and a fair weather team like Minnowthorn be up.

The AFL forcefully steal from the producers like Richmond, Injuries and Essendrug and give to the parasites like lelNorph

Yes and the umps have a secret agenda against us and also so does Trump, Messi, Rinaldo, lebron and Michael Jordan and all dictators on earth. It’s us or them.

Pickett will play in 2 weeks time in the vfl from what i have been told, Fitness is fine and is ready to go
If we go deep into finals and things fall his way its a very good chance he may just get a game in the finals

Fantastic! yeah he was already pretty fit when he came, the past 6-7 weeks he's done a mini preseason to get some AFL conditioning so he'll be flying. His touch may take some time to get back as he hasnt played all year - but hes just as likely to go bang and force his way in earlier. Reckon his first VFL game will be the most watched VFL of the season to date haha

In saying that i never ever want to see fans lose their clubs irrespective of how much I hate them.

We all should have done more to save Fitzroy but we just stood by.

Thank god we, the Hawks and Dogs had the fight in us.

Bloody oath! That was a fecking disgrace watching the old Fitzroy lose their existence!

High expectations on Marlion judging by Dimma’s presser today.

Made a joke about Balmey expecting him to win the Brownlow from the games left😂
Said he will play limited VFL next week likely as a mid, then make a call from there! Sounds very promising can’t wait to see what he can do

dimma said next week he will play vfl today

Just looking over Marlion's highlights again. To my eyes, he actually already moves like a Richmond player . Clean hands and explodes forward quickly from stoppage off of a few quick steps. Its exactly how we like to play and move the ball forward. Our recruitment has improved so much in the last 5 or so years. Matt Clarke mentioned on the 'Road to the Draft' podcast recently that teams will rank players differently on draft boards based on how they see the players strengths aligning with their own game plan. I think Marlion might be a good example of this and after Hardwick's comments in todays presser, you would be silly to think that he can't have an impact from round 20 onwards

It’s great this guy gets a shot at the highest level and what the mid season draft gives clubs in terms shoring up the list a little while young talent comes on, but I think we need to not set the bar to high.
Were playing a sec tall now with Jack and Tom and more often than not a tall swing man
This week against Port we got maybe 10/11 players that can go thru the midfield and on the sidelines we got
Ross
Caddy
Butler
Kmac
Balta
Naish
Higgins
As well as the usual suspects we’ve used as depth
Markov
Menadue
Weller
And the kids like
RCD
English
Turner
I got no expectations on the guy, everything that comes from him being on the list is a bonus

Exactly, look at the impact Graham had coming off a limited preseason late in '17, or Townsend.
