Holy s**t was that umpiring ridiculous. Paying flopping frees, stupid 50s and shamelfully paying holding the ball against swans who aren’t even in possession.

why is there no recourse for shameful unpiring performances? We should take one out the back and shoot them to put fear of failure into the rest.

Of course, that was a huge issue.

Still, Sydney got a dodgy free directly in front with 30sec on the clock also made a huge difference
I know Essendon supporters have their heads permanently buried in the sand but you couldn't possibly have missed the fact that Rowbottom was tackled and then thrown to the ground without possession of the ball. Or are you just like the other flog on here that likes to bring Essendon's victim status into every match day thread?

Spilt in the tackle is now holding the ball, locked up still a bounce.
Not the way it was officiated today. Today it was more like play on if in the midfield, holding the ball/incorrect disposal if in a Saints jumper and Holding the man if in a Sydney jumper.

Higgins hade a brutally ironic game, bloke was working his arse off to create goals and was Our best forward but due to that he was then in a position to win the game and failed.

Footy is brutal old game at times.
He should have taken a flop.
Would of got himself a 50 and won the game.

Too much integrity.

The ball was deep in Sydney's F50 and they were up by 4 points with 30 seconds to go. Less than 5% chance Saints go end to end and kick a goal to win the match even without the free kick.

Saints were also gifted multiple soft 50s.

The right team won.

Not every game day threads, just the Sydney SCG matches it seems

Higgins both cost Saints the game and was their best player imo. Membrey. Hill, Ryder good also and rest were meh as far as I'm concerned

Crouch 38 touches (@79% efficiency), 14 contested, 7 clearances, 6 tackles.

Steele 31 touches (@81% efficiency), 16 contested, 9 tackles, 7 intercept possessions, 8 clearances, 1 goal.

Top two ranked players on the ground.

Only one conclusion. If StKilda can't win a game that was literally handed to them on a silver platter they may as well fold. Give Tassie a team FFS.
We just played a top 8 Sydney on their home ground and had every chance to win, and their entire injury list is:

Melican
Reid
Campbell
Gulden

Our injury list:

Gresham
Marshall
Jones
Hannebery
Paton
Carlisle
McKenzie
Kent
Frawley
McKernan
Joyce
Roberton

Then we lose the in-form Wood in the first quarter

Pretty fair bloody effort.

Don't forget Geary in the last as well.

Saints fans are whinging about Lyon and Brown criticising King throughout the game. Maybe, just maybe, the 2 blokes with hundreds of games and multiple All Australians and flags between them playing the same role as King *might* have a fair idea about where he's at with his footy.

But nah, keep screaming into the void and cream over that time he took some marks against Geelong :tearsofjoy:
