It's not ridiculous, it's a fact the AFL are not putting any money into the video game industry by paying for their own game. They license it out for money. FIFA and The NFL never did that. That's why I say you should be happy they're delaying it, instead of being impatient. But from the screenshots and teaser, it looked exactly the same with a bit of a graphical and audio upgrade. The movement of the players remained the same. Big Ant sponsor The AFLW, so who knows, they may get the license someday.
It’s not really a fact, it’s just something Ross told us back in the Live 2 days, if Evo 2 has been delayed by almost a year, then clearly either the AFL or tru blu are willing to put more money in to make the game better

You say the movement of the players hasn’t changed but we’ve only seen one set shot animation, you can’t judge player movement form screenshots

It will be interesting to see what the delay and move to a new engine mean for how the game actually plays.

Seems there's still a lot of nostalgia for AFL Live. But it never felt like a close approximation of the modern game. Set positions, one-on-one contests, Sandilands running down Chris Yarran because who cares about stats in a sports game.

it was like they made the game by digitising the Aussie Rules rulebook rather than actually watching the game.

The modern game is messy as all hell and I think that's what makes the game a) difficult to make and b) not that great to play.

Hopefully we something more concrete soon.

There were issues with player speeds among other things but AFL live 1 played far better than anything since.

98 was the true GOAT

One day they'll release a teaser that isn't teams running into the field with their jumpers changing.

aye, I have no idea how they still think this is a cool effect. All it does is highlight the lack of variation in animations

Okay I have the interview questions back and they're pretty good.

Will be up in the next couple days (might even skip it straight to the front of the content line)
Get it up mate. :thumbsu:

Are you releasing the question/answers or are they?

Man that is so disapointing. Again the lack of communication. They should have announced that it's not going to be ready by the start of season (they still haven't) not an interview on a website I'd never heard of before (no offense berisha, I just don't follow gaming news outside of here and r/gaming, good write up). As soon as I read that I stopped caring.

It was a great interview so not knocking the effort put in there, but they talk about not being able to announce things because of AFL restriction but then go on and tell you it won't be ready until after Round 1.

I'm wondering why they couldn't have just announced that themselves, along with all the other tidbits they mentioned in the interview?

Again not knocking you berisha just frustration over the lack of communication on their end.
