Interested to see if plebs are still bringing home the Charlie at the end of the year. Can't see that changing unless they've revamped ratings or code specific to that. I don't know why they can't just pool 20 of the highest rated players in the league each season and have one of them randomly selected.

Classic Freo.
Delisted Macpherson and they pick him up in the ND at pick 4.
He's a solid player but I just have a lot of decent options.

I can simply not take advantage as a "fix" but it makes me lol too much getting Free Agents and then trading them for younger players at roughly a similar level.

AI really needs to settle down with the off the ball hip and shoulders, absolute nutters.

It pisses me off that they get away with that every single time, but if you do it back to them in a marking contest, a lot of the time you're pinged.

Anyone know some good slider settings to stop the off the ball hip and shoulders (either so they stop doing it so much, or they get penalised for it) and so that you can bump more often in a marking contest and get away with it?

If you purchased it from the US store digitally then you need to get the update once they release it for the US specifically as there will be a different product code. If you purchased digitally from Australian store then log into the Australian account you used to make the purchase, it will update.

I you purchased a disk then it will be UK/AusPac region (SCEE), make an Australian account (free) and log into that, it will then update based off the disk.
Awww... look at you assisting the guy who was at you a page back...
I’m so happy we’re all getting along again!

The Evo update from April did make some weird changes to downloaded players (downloaded Nick Riewoldt was likely built off the licensed Max Lynch player, so the Evo Update reset him to Max Lynch).

But this is different... I made sure all my players weren’t going to get that type of reset, by testing them with the April Evo update. Had to even replace some of them, because I noticed this happened.
It might be the May Evo Update that screwed this up, or a combination of the May Evo Update and the 1.02 patch... not sure.
footyfan78 Looks like I was wrong about this... my custom players are all good.

They just show up as a low-quality version in the Edit Player screen AFTER you’ve played a game on ‘Performance=High’...
Playing a game back on normal setting has them show up ok in the game... but not in the edit player window anymore... at least until you close/reopen the game application.

I’ve Updated the bug thread on the WW website with the info.

Noticed is shows up as a ‘Block’ now as well. Not just sheparding off the ball.
Didn’t notice this before, so maybe that’s new.
Saw that as well. 99% sure that wasn’t in the game before.

Finished my first coach season in charge of North Melbourne last night. Finished on top of the ladder with a 20-2 record. Annoyingly, Ben Brown suffered a foot fracture in Round 23, ruling him out for 52 weeks. He was on 85 goals, I was looking forward to getting him his 100th goal during the finals. Had a tough match in the qualifying final against Port, but won through to keep Collingwood to just three goals in the preliminary final, setting up a clash with the Power (again) in the Grand Final. Had Brown, Ziebell, Higgins and Cunnington all missing through injury, but still won by about 13 goals.

In past AFL games, I've found it really tiresome being better than the AI. It's not the case in this game. I find real enjoyment in putting up big scores. I think because (A) I find the goalkicking gets shared around quite a lot - I can kick 25 goals in a game and have my FF in Brown only kick one or two, while some of the midfielders are kicking bags of three or four. Even Robbie Tarrant, my CHB, floated forward and kicked a fair few goals for the season. And (B), it's genuinely fun kicking goals because it feels like real football. Most of the time it's not just *clearance from the middle, mark, goal*, it's a bit more nuanced. That said, would like a bit more of an improvement in the AI difficulty.

Not sure how people can do multiple years with the same team. I finished my year with North Melbourne, had a look at the trading and draft side of things, now I want to start a new season with another club. Thinking I'll switch to the Swans once I download the patch.

Simming a Gold Coast season, managed to nab 9 wins with 1 game to go which I feel would be good for them in real life, yet I'm in 15th.
Last place has 7 wins and first place has 13 wins.
Where do I sign up for 9 wins?

With the most recent patch, I am thinking this may be a purchase soon with me hopefully finishing off Persona 5 at some point.

I’m pretty sure the off the ball slider affects this. There’s one for CPU, and one for User.
So raise their number (more strict) and lower yours (more lenient). Both are 50 by default. (Pretty sure it’s this way around - will be quickly obvious if its the opposite)

There's some good crowd fixes in the patch....
Crowd doesn't sound like it's saying "Awww" for a goal anymore.
Can definitely hear "Ball" more for tackles.

They even snuck in this....where the crowd excitement builds as the shot on goal comes close to the goals..... but then there's an "Awww" in disappointment when it misses.

AI gameplay much better but online gotten worse. Too many glitches still.
Only tried online games twice. Do not really care about it, because even if was good other players could still be unreliable of just dropping out and quitting if game not going their way. Much rather these efforts of two patches deal with the more pressing needs.

Yeah I agree with that. After tonight I will be focusing on Career more as yeah Online too unreliable

I just had a read of the patch notes, thats a fair whack of fixes. Seems folks are having a bit more fun with it now, or busy starting new career seasons?

I played around with sliders for AI and also increased difficulty level for myself after being 7 wins and 2 losses into the season.
Round 8 and 9 were after the patch. Round 10 after I adjusted sliders and increased the difficult level for myself. Got thrashed by 8 goals. Going to have to improve my controls to make finals. Dropped from 2nd to 4th on ladder.

I had a go at creating my own player after leaving season career mode. The first player I created the week I got game left a lot to be desired in terms of looking like player I wanted. This second attempt much better attempt. I still do not know how some people create really good players in appearance from scratch like whomever created Stephen Kernahan and Chris Judd but hope to get to that level in time so can really get deeper into custom team creation. Probably my favourite options in whole game. Enjoy seeing what others create and ability to save player for use myself. Hope in time I get good enough at it so can help out others too.

That's a hell of a lot better.

A bit more fine-tuning would be great. Yesterday I mounted an epic comeback (aided by a decrease in difficulty :$), it was a 40+ turnaround in the last quarter. West Coast home game at Optus. That last quarter should have been a wall of sound.

Having said that though the changes are great.

One thing I did notice is that the Eagles don't run through their big inflatable Eagle in home games. Now, some might say this is an improvement, but it's not accurate.

One thing pissing me off still is the AI on the mark seemingly encroaching and smothering the AI on my team taking a free kick, they don't go back off the mark and when they go to make a move they're still next to the man on the mark and they f*** it up.

Good to see that now being a mid-forward actually means something, I've started in the middle and on the wing in games.

Also seem to have fixed the draft status as well, you actually see your rep points and it's actually rating you accordingly unlike before.

Hey guys, here's a look at the post that's just about to go live on Facebook.

The next update patch for AFL Evolution 2 has arrived for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One!
The update for Nintendo Switch is currently awaiting approval and will be released as soon as possible.

Some of the key changes (many based on fan feedback) you will find in this update are:
  • Performance improvements for all platforms, but especially Switch.
  • Added Performance option in Options > Graphics menu that allows for higher performance in exchange for visual quality and functionality.
  • Enhancements to crowd atmosphere and other game audio.
  • Numerous adjustments to gameplay such as umpiring, default run speed and tackle distances, ability to play on, ruckman selection, and speccy strength.
  • AI improvements including kicking accuracy and interchange behaviour.
  • Multiple career issues addressed, including duplicate players, injuries and fixtures.
  • Improvements to online gameplay.
  • Trophy/Achievements are now all possible to complete.
  • Plus much, much more!
You can find the full patch notes at www.wickedsports.com.au/community/afl-evolution-2/afl-evolution-2-1-02-patch-notes

There will be more to come as work on the next update is already underway!
#AFLEvo2

the stats screen is a big improvement.

not having that before was annoying.

I’m glad drafted player heights have been addressed. I had abandoned career but will give it another shot.

I’m interested has drafting and scouting been improved? If not I hope it is in the future...

- there was far too many overage players in the draft

- impossible to scout pre-draft

- There is no way to scout during the draft beyond the “potential range”. More detail would be good.

- too few very good players in the draft (in reality every draft produces a dozen guys that walk into their teams best 10 players on day 1).

my first draft produced maybe 1 guy in the whole draft of that caliber.

Has anyone had an issue where after a couple of seasons in coach career where every afl team's lists are full. You were no longer able to trade your players for picks with any team, only able to trade player for player. Doesn't seem to be addressed in the patch notes.
