Doesn't matter the guy is a dud anyway.
Good chance we might be playing the Swans in the first week of the finals, and i'd rather he was playing for Sydney, massive advantage for the Pies if he is.

another mindless collingwood supporter, i've come across way too many in the past week...amon a dud...LOL alright then

your list is littered with old over the hill duds, its a grandpas club. WTF are you going to do in 3-4 years when you have no players under 28.

On a completely unrelated note: I've seen my club win a flag in my lifetime AND I finished year 12.

I'm about to cop shi* from my own fans but I cant defend that, it was not reckless it was intentional as clear as day. It was not as bad as Johnsons but it was a 4 weeker with maybe 3 weeks for a good record but 1 for that is not right.

And daddy Vlad bought you that flag.. brag about it all you want, its a bought flag... No real pride in that one pal!

And my spelling errors were due to the system not letting you use the words you tool, so i had to change the spelling.

BTW, completing years 1 and 2 doesn't equate to completing year 12.

It's not Sydney's fault (like some supporters think its Collingwood's fault that other teams want to play us at the MCG, but that's a completely different thread). It's the complete farce of the whole system. They should handle each case seperately and on it's merits, not by previous records.

I'm sorry, but this argument holds no water.

It's the action that needs to be assessed, not the resulting injury or extent there of.

You've got to be absolutely joking!

Amon gets one week for what people don't want to see disappear from the game..................a sensational hip & shoulder. Remember Pickett on Hummel. Not reported & Hummel was out for a few weeks with a minor headache. For Christs sake, Clarke had the ball when Buchanan went for him.....................it's just that Amon is a little slower through the air then your average Swan. Hehehe..............

Now for Rocca. Did you see how blatantly late he was with his fist in Goodes face. He is notorious for this late action to an opponents face when he has missed the marking contest.
The fact that Goodes has the toughness to not stay down for too long & get on with the game is what saved Rocca for the finals. Rocca owes Goodes big time.
This repeat offender should have got two weeks & had another two added on for his disgraceful record for similar late incidents.

But I guess that the Magpie faithful would have been crying for blood had he got a week.

Looking forward to playing the Pies in week one of the finals.

Hehehe...............

We will be their worst nightmare. Of all the teams they would have to come up against in the first final, they cop a battle hardened outfit in The Bloods.

"Here it is"!!

To battle we go!!

4 weeks is fair imho
you cant just go around jumping at peoples heads
if he stayed on the ground if would have been a good hip and shoulder perhaps

Hip and shoulder. Beautiful shirt front but a tad late. Didn't hit him in the head and kept his elbow down. For the Irishman welcome to AFL sunshine.

That is pretty ignorant. If someone does something that is clearly illegal & intentional or reckless then they should be rubbed out otherwise it is encouraging dangerous conduct. Its like someone shooting at you & saying no harm done I missed.

.

You mean, like and then not reporting to the police?

Clarke got up & played a key part in the last quarter. No matter what you or anyone else says, the hip & shoulder is still a part of the game. Amon was a little late & only got a week because of his clean record.
I repeat..........it was a hip & shoulder with the arm tucked in. The little push in the back on Clarke from O'Keefe is what actually propelled him into Amon that little bit harder. It was perfect, just a little late.

And you know what the best part about the whole incident is. The young fella got up & played the match out well, many AFL supporters love & respect him even more (me being the first one).

Buchanan is a tough little gem! I loved seeing that hip & shoulder replayed knowing that Clarke was able to continue. Quite obviously his head wasn't even touched or it would have been lights out with the speed Buchanan hit him.

One week is more then fair for mine. No weeks if he had a bad record.....................that's how Rocca got off!

There is a hip and shoulder and than there is a charge... and that was a target of the man not going the ball at the time. It also cost us a goal from a very undisciplined act with game still available to us so in my book that was very stupid as well.

I will take it mate but I cant defend 1 week, clean record or none.. I do think Rocca should have got time off as well though.

He actually got 325 points (3 weeks) reduced to 243.75 points (2 weeks) for a spotless 5 year record. The early guilty plea reduced it to 182 points (1 week).

So basically he got what everyone had called for & that takes care of that.
Back for the first final!!

Fair hip and shoulder? If Rocca or Didak delivered one like Buchanan did on Saturday night, many on here would be calling for them to be sent to the chair... The hysteria on here would be matched only by the hysteria in the media and it would be season over for either of them and there would be much sage nodding of heads on here about how they got it right for once...

Great example there

It was far from a fair bump, but Johnsons was much worse.

The rule is there to protect the head and spine from serious damage.
Bell is very lucky he doesn't have a broken neck.

You mean Johnstone? If Bucky had run through someones head whilst they were over the ball trying to pick it up like a weak coward then you might have grounds for complaint. Otherwise whinge to someone who cares.

I'm not talking about Johnson .. he got about what he deserved for an ugly clash ...

what i'm saying is that if Rocca or Didak had delivered the identical bump to what Buchanan did on Saturday night, every man and his dog would be calling for all sorts of action and saying how the head must be protected...

that'd be because both of them have form.....same as if it had been gehrig or farmer or baker or maybe daniel kerr ... and barry hall woulda copped it too
the fact is it was a weak act carried out by a bloke with a clean record and NO form....

If Rocca did what Buchanon did he would get 3 weeks (same as bucky) then an extra 2 weeks for his previous bad record, an extra week because the pies will try and contest it, and another week from carry over points from his last punch thrown.
7 weeks, goodby pies.

It's something of a myth that Rocca has form..
Yes, was suspended in 2003 for an undisciplined hit on Lade (and paid an extremely high price, missing the GF) but I think his only suspension since then was earlier this year and that was for a bump (not a punch) which is clearly much, much closer to a ''fair hip and shoulder'' than what Buchanan's was.
Rocca received one match for his hit and took it to the tribunal and lost and ended up with two. Buchanan gets one match for a much worse hit and quite rightly will accept it.

some are more equal than others

His hit on Dempster was high in the head area (although Dempster had slipped) and was way off the ball. But thanks for pointing out the hypocracy of the collingwood whinging.

he hit was high because Dempster slipped, it wasn't way off the ball, any AFL player worth his salt would have been shepherding in that situation. Rocca could have hit him far harder than he did.

The ball was 50m away when Buchanan hit Clarke and he had both feet off the ground and hit him front on in the face, there was no action from Clarke that contributed to the head high contact whatsoever.

Surely nobody with half a brain cell would agree with the tribunal grading of medium impact and body contact?
