Wonder what this means for our form.. only just beating them (albeit at the gabba) and scraping by against the tigs. Slightly concerned about tomorrow.

Coleman is a massive loss.

Take Saad out of our side…..

While Saad would be a significant out, we can cover Saad. Boyd, Doc (if he wasn't injured), Cincotta, Williams, Cowan, Newman for smalls; Kemp, Marchbank, McGovern, Akuei for meds.

Coleman is a linchpin for them that I don't think we have, the key to it all working. The Lions have a few of those, in which if you remove them the system doesn't work well without them: Coleman for transition, Neale for midfield, Cameron up forward, Andrews down back. It's really what keeps them rather fragile: if you beat two-three of those players, you beat Brisbane.

If you were to say similar for us, you'd be pointing at Charlie, Cripps, Weitering, Walsh, and yet we've won with Cripps being stopped, without Sam or Jacob and we've won big finals with Charlie well covered.

We're many things, but we don't require specific players the way other sides seem to for our system to work. Perhaps the upside to just all the injuries during developing seasons - where Brisbane had none - is that we have had to rely on teaching a system designed to allow players to slot in or out, where they've come to rely on individuals who sometimes just won't be there.

With our first choice FB and CHB back in the side you will see a different side out of the middle tomorrow -- the two lynch pins will give the mids confidence to go offensive .. expect a big contested and clearance dominance tomorrow

Just got done watching the game.

Umpiring? Dreadful. But far from a determinant in the result.

Brisbane's outs rob then of some absolutely vital roles. Structures and run are completely screwed. No Coleman and McKenna is huge with the way the AFL is set up

They're done for the year unless multiple players can reinvent themselves to take on those roles but it's going to hurt them elsewhere

This felt like the first time this year where Filth were able to hunt and play closer to their natural game. Their pressure game was the difference. It's become an alpha league - you bring the intent and pressure they did you're going to win games.

Not convinced that they're coming out the other side yet though. Have a feeling the 3 games after their first bye will determine their season. Port at the G, ANZAC Day and then us.

Hipwood is lucky he doesn't play for a Vic club or Adelaide/West Coast. Has absolutely minimal ticker for it when things aren't going his way and the small market let's him get away with it.

Can tell you that we don't care about how we win this early in the season just as long as we do.

Don't be surprised if "banking wins" is a term you hear a lot pre-mid year bye from Vossy and the leadership group.

We'll get our percentage building wins when we need them.

They both looked bog ordinary...... far cry from the two teams that played off last year.

Not sure why but certainly not shedding a tear about it. :p

Only problem was the feral Pies won.... that is never a good result.

I was actually wanting a draw then they would both still be winless.

Yep Sydney and GWS Melbourne last two weeks far better than both these two by a long way can't see there game catching up

This game is a real scrap. Neither team particularly good.

Hope we stop making the Crows look like premiers this year.
