So they both have twice as many commentators as necessary.

Would be nice if cricket media did focus on quality over quantity, in baseball you have only a few commentators all with their own roles doing the entire 3-4 hour game but in cricket somehow it's impossible for people to do more than 30 minute shifts.

Why not try their system of a play by play commentator and the colour commentator and they do an entire session, over time the best will rise to the top and the ian healys would be put out to pasture.

A fair chunk of them are merely presenters or hosts of cricket programs tbf, plus you'll also have periods where there's BBL and Test matches on the same day so naturally you can't have all that many commentators.

Still a reasonably fair point though, 9 only had 9 commentators at the end of their run (plus a few for women's cricket). I think you probably need 8 at a minimum to do a Test and you'd want 2-4 for BBL, so minimum contracted comms probably has to be 12. Which is far fewer than Fox or 7 have.

I think Abbey Gelmi should be in italics. She did all 3 womens t20s.

Hopefully this means Bhogle might be in the box occasionally as well
I'm pretty sure they announced him as the 'guest' commentator for the India series in Fox Cricket's launch.

For the SA series it'll be Graeme Smith, for SL it's Russell Arnold.

Harsha is great. I wish we got Polly instead of Graeme.

Would love to have Sourav too but alas

Well, at least the Scream Team of Healy and Slater aren't together.

can they all fit with the broadcast of not saying silly things or else just be themselves and not prescribe to an agenda?
some good names there and yet 'time is fleeting' can't handle too many at one time.. what to do with so much talent?

It isn’t quite as many when you consider the fact that they’ll both have people commentating on the BBL on the same night as they’ll be covering tests.

I always wondered why Nine didn't use Harsha during Indian tours. I guess he just wouldn't have fitted in, for a whole host of reasons.

It was uncomfortable and not a coincidence Nine had guest commentators from the white countries but virtually never from the Asian countries.

Michael Holding commentated a fair bit on channel 9, i think Sunil Gavaskar commentated back in the 90's,

I must admit that I am really over people playing the racism card or gender bias card when it clearly doesn't exist.

You were given examples of diversity in the comm team but they didn't suit your agenda so you found an excuse
