It's getting closer..
Because he's on the backline...Corr did have a go at Bailey when he missed a mark in the last quarter. I don't really understand why Bailey has gone so far backwards.

Hadn’t noticed that time frame and Xerri absence. I’ve been pretty down on X, but thought he was much better today. Still gets in the way of midfielders, if he blocked and opened up the the path he’d be better. Good signs today though.Just something that looks to have been missed by everyone in here, that 15 minutes where * basically won the game was the same time frame that Xerri hurt his ribs & was either off the ground or clearly hampered by it.
Because the alternative is probably Dylan Stevens.I thought were we ok, we’re just not good enough. Loved seeing Sheezel in the middle, positions himself really well. We won centre clearances I believe. Comben needs to kick long only. Pink tried his guts out, gave some support. Larkey was well held. Bailey Scott ran well all game.
We just lack confidence and our ball use from D50 was our downfall. McKercher will help with that.
Our ability to stop the leads was dissapointing, need to defend better, get back when we don’t have it.
Why is Curtis Taylor playing?
That wasn’t the issue. When Baily scott kicks it direct to opposition inside 50 and it is rebounded, its rather hard to meet that metric2 tackles inside 50. 2. Essendon had 5x as many.
And Paul Curtis! Some of the tap ons to advantage by Sheez and George are elite, bloody high fooy iqs. And the over the head quick release hand balls.

Dawson shows he has ability. Incredibly raw, good for the lesson, was caught behind too often but back to the scoobs to work on his craft. A couple of Wrights goals come from Baily scott turnoversThought Dawson was pretty good. Wright got on top once our pressure dropped and he had some easy space. He was far better than Chom as a defender.
The forward line has not looked good for many years and I don’t see Clarko and the coaching staff doing anything. Very little leading and no real plan going forward.
Missed Colby.

As a football layman myself I can try, today it looked like we’re trying to move away from the Brad Scott era fully contested style. For someone who didn't see the game, can you explain to the layman what game style, Clarko is trying to implement?
Are there though? It doesn't help but there were also plenty of chances to lock it in when our forwards decided they couldn't be arsed.

We struggle to get i50, and when we do we tend to kick it straight to an opposition player who marks and clears it.
I am a constant defender. When the team- however- is showing intent across the board, it is then then the disastrous turnovers that kill you. While he wasn’t alone, there were probably 2-3 goals that were a direct result of not being able to execute a basic skill.Bailey Scott needs to be sent to the magoos until he can show he can hit his kicks consistently.
A+ for you, Mr Nortball. As a football layman myself I can try, today it looked like we’re trying to move away from the Brad Scott era fully contested style.
We absolutely have our contested players inside feeding play but the gameplay looks to be more pinpoint, uncontested and fast on the outside which is more in line with the way the modern teams play. I reckon this is in line with what Wardlaw mentioned as ‘Northball’ during the preseason and is why we’re being demolished on turnover - we’re trying to learn a riskier, higher skill calibre of footy that a lot of our players can’t demonstrate due to skill.
The issue is if we play a contested plan while waiting until we have players with the skill/composure to play it, it may be to late to teach by the time we have the cattle to play it.
Teach the plan now, those who cannot perform will be exposed and we can fill the gaps with players that can execute.
FIVE - 5 goals from Bailys direct turnovers. I counted them.I am a constant defender. Hey, look on the bright side, it’s only 4 below our princely average of 6 per game.2 tackles inside 50. 2. Essendon had 5x as many.

Sounds like the way the team has been playing all year. Most of the scores oppos have scored have been on our turnovers. We have been murdered this way all season. Until we clean up our foot skills, this will continue to be a massive problem. At least with players like Sheezel, McKercher (didn't play today), Wardlaw, Dursmaa etc., supporters can see that some of the pieces are already in place. The ball butchers are going to continue to kill us until we have enough depth, to push these guys out or at least give them time in the reserves to go back and work on their kicking. As a football layman myself I can try, today it looked like we’re trying to move away from the Brad Scott era fully contested style.
