Here we go second semi final between the 2nd place Hobart Hurricanes against the 3rd place Sydney Sixers. In their last meeting way back in the 2nd round the Hurricanes got home in a canter. As usual the ex-NSW boy did the job when Jaques top scored with 73 and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan did the job in the second innings. The return of Cosgrove pushed Jaquess down the order, perhaps they will flick Jaques back up there to capitalize on the ex performing again.

The Sixers head into this game on a three game winning streak however one match was reduced to a 5 over affair. Starc played in two out of three of those matches and he will be missed in Hobart. The other win in the streak was against the Strikers at Adelaide where the home side tasted some of their own medicine when the Sixers spinner frenzied them.

Hobart will start as favourites with advantages in both the batting and bowling department.

In limited overs cricket when a team relies on spin like the hurricanes do you have to back it up in the field. Lately the purple army have fallen off in that regards so if they don't pick it up tonight they will struggle.

Having said that with Birt and Shah... and after last game add Wells to that list, you know a good score must be made to beat the Hurricanes.

I think Hobart, by a little bit.

Rana has been off in the last few games, hopefully he finds form tonight in front of a sell-out crowd. I am not too sure about Cosgrove, just doesn't seem particuarly good at this form of the game...

Lumb dropped wow, SOK to open with Henriques.

Hobart getting a touch sloppy. 6 an over wasnt looking realistic 4 overs ago.

So many lucky edges, thats your answer to how they make a score, theyve had so much luck.

1-43 after 7 overs - just a shade over 6 runs per over at the one third stage. They need to get a wriggle on if they want to get to the "par" score of 170-180.

What a waste of a wicket that was - reverse sweep - lobbed it straight to the man on the edge of the circle. Useless waste.
