Big supporter base and on field success

Always want to know if a team has a big supporter base then does this equate to on field success.

Good question. A big supporter base adds soul to a club and players from clubs such as Collingwood and West Coast lift big time.

It also helps with player retention and recruiting (unless you're Rssendon), so I believe teams with big supporter bases will be more likely to be successful on the field.

I think it goes to the ability of the off-field elements of the club - how well the club is run, the resources available, the talent at board level who can make the right decisions.

IIRC was it the poster Perthboy or a similar name to that who used to create an enormous amount of threads on the main board.
