He's not going to rot but I don't see him getting a big (or any) pay day probably not good for the Toowoomba case.
it's disappointing that it's a civil trial but that's how it goes. i hope channel 7 get skewered for their support for him.

I think its a case of he is sympathetic to BH but everyone else sucks here and 10's shoddy journalism just got lucky that the allegation was more likely than not true.

BL may also have more questions to answer from the ACT magistrates.

Lee J clearly preferring Higgins' evidence over Lehrmann's evidence. He's not winning.
He's already determined sex took place to a civil standards he's now making the determination of consent which goes to it being rape as alleged by Channel 10.

EDIT: and there it it. No way BL is winning this. Channel 10 likely to succeed on the truth defence.

Half a chance on the rape claim, but not on the cover-up conspiracy, which is interrelated.

Bruce might get 5 cents on the cover up claim.
Yeah but the alleged cover up really has little to do with Bruce, that defames the department/ministers/government not him.

The crux of the matter in relation to BL action is the rape allegation.

No doubt the rape allegation is primary, but the rest of the untruths in the cover up argument dictates if the damn thing goes to air in the first place and might effect 10's substantial truth defence.

Apparently Lehrmann is in court today to hear the judgement. Bet he wishes he didn't show up, because the media scrum is going to be tremendous when he has to leave the court.

Channel 7 to push their way to the front and claim they knew he was probably a rapist all along ;)

"In his pursuit of gratification he did not care one way or another whether Ms Higgins understood or agreed."
Sounds like alleged rape to me.

"Mr Lehrmann raped Ms Higgins," Justice Lee said.

"I hasten to stress this is a finding on the balance of probabilities."
Chickens are about to come home to roost, Brucey.
