He played a really good quarter. I think you can expect / rely on your captain doing that in big games. Imagine if you couldn't rely on that?

Geelong has played in front of a combined 238,918 people over the last 3 weeks. That was about 30,000 less people than we played in front of for the entire 2022 finals series.

Amazing experience for our many sub 50 gamers. Talk about an apprenticeship!

And that bodes well for the future - whether it's this year, next year or even the year after and playing finals on the MCG, in front of massive crowds and where it can get absolutely deafening towards the end, they're getting a taste of that now

We can't underestimate how important these experiences are for young players

Agree that Joel is THE club legend, but even he couldn't do the things Patrick did last night. In 50 years of watching the Cats, that game by Danger was as close as the way Gary Ablett (Snr ofc) at his best used to dominate games and make everyone around him look like schoolboys in comparison. If you never saw Ablett play in person (and youtube highlights are nothing like it), well, now you know what it was like. And Danger is an all round nice guy, not the very flawed individual that Snr was.

I am hoping COS will fill the void in excitement when PFD has to retire. That kid looks like he might be able to!

100% agree - that was GAS-like by Danger (sans the leaping on shoulders). The fact that he's 35 and still doing this is mind-boggling.

And yes, very happy with how COS is tracking. Super-valuable experience and in a couple of years he won't be out-bodied like he is now.

It was definitely HTB. He made no attempt to dispose of the ball. That should be HTB every single time. I was impressed that the umpire had the stones to call it in such a big moment.

He had no prior and normally this season the umpire blows the whistle quickly to stop play. For some reason he didn’t which made his inability to dispose of it look like HTB. Should never have got to that stage.

Yes I would argue - I’ll take another look but I don’t recall seeing the tackle part (below the shoulders and above the knees) that goes with a holding the ball free

Just watching the last quarter again, the pressure in this game was out of this world. A complete classic. Stressful to watch at the end.

Giving them a chance to win when we were 3 goals up with 4 minutes to go was disappointing.

But I thought we were outplayed by them for a lot of the game. An absolute credit to the coaches and the players for finding a way to win.
It looked like men Vs boys a few times out there.
Games experience between the 2 teams last night would be huge you would think.

King was a dick last night but he also had a good point saying games like this add 20-30 games experience to the young players.

My recollection may be flawed but Joel was very consistent.
Danger, Ablett senior more mercurial but prone to flatlining for periods that time has allowed us to forget.
