played them in 2017 for cam rayner and we ended up winning, they came last and got cam rayner and are now the best team in the comp and we’re still struggling to get out of the bottom 2.

Look at some of the players we have recruited since then such as ccj and biggy. And they even have the depth to cover Coleman and McCarthy. And it becomes pretty obvious why we still stink.

Brisbane, Hawthorn, Gold Coast, Crows ...take your pick. We were around those sides 4-5 years ago - they have all improved in line with or higher than expectations.
North - well we are still 'rebuilding' in a solid 17th - 1 win and a whole lot of shit losses.
Plenty of excuses, plenty of factors behind this - let's not reprosecute it all again now but wow there were some shit - sorry optimistic - posters back then who have gone missing now - a bit like our team.
You look at this Sunday - playing at our 'fortress' against the Lions and knowing weeks out we are zero chance of winning - I'd like to hear from those posters from 5-6 years ago and discuss how things are going at the club.

no but i remember thinking at the time that we would rise up the ladder much quicker then them,in 2 years they were playing finals.

Say what you want about Phillips - until we play him and see if he’s cut out for it, I don’t buy the 60% bullshit.
He simply makes way for others to get more game time.
But we stick with the same ****ing lineup and mix in the middle because that has done wonders for us so far.

Pink in for Dawson is the obvious call.
Reckon Clarko cooked it when he picked Dawson to come in two weeks ago. It is what it is.
Wardlaw obvious inclusion.
McDonald has been solid up until his disastrous showing last week, but how we can carry him and Corr now in the same backline is cooking me beyond belief.
I thought we were past this ffs
They’re both finished at AFL level. And they both have deals for 2026.
It’s just a ****ing shitshow.
And then Will gets dropped and Scott stays in.
Make it make sense.
The reality is the list is still no good, especially with some of the deadwood experienced players we have, so why not throw caution to the wind and keep Phillips and even the kid Payne, throw him a debut with 9 tackles last week in the VFL.
But no.
Out of the 23 selected you’d argue Curtis and Archer are the only players missing from our best side.
Try make a case on team balance for Phillips and Goater if fully fit. But this is objective.
The team running out on Sunday is just no good.
We’re 1 & 7. Give us something to hold onto and say, yeah I can see this team playing finals very soon. Can’t see shit with this mob

2016 was a watershed moment, We started offloading some dead wood but the blokes we replaced them with have been "underwhelming" at best. coming up to a decade since then, and we are still years off being competitive.

Warning sirens should have been flashing when we did the danials deal, retrospectively it looks like the doubling down of desperation. Parker was the only win in the 3 stooges strategy, i cant imagine we would have been less competitive playing treakle (sic) in darlings place and maybe dropping will Phill back to do the danials role at HB. we would at least still have some picks this year.
