It's a tough one. Jamar is definitely playing next week, and you'd think Gysberts would return.

Garland might be in doubt, hopefully his injury wasn't serious.

Gawn unlucky, I love the look of the kids he moves so well for a 208cm behemoth. He kicked a goal and set up another with great pressure. Hes gonna be fantastic soon enough.

But the Russian will be ready to return, and its time to make our assault on the Finals.

Hopefully Garland is good to go.

Does anyone yet know the extent of Garland's ankle injury? I get the feeling he may be ok by the way he was walking around at the end of the game - fingers crossed.

Depends on who comes up. I'm banking on Garland not playing and Jamar coming back in to the side. Gysberts is probably fit, but, who does he replace? Nicholson was fantastic and deserves another run. Gawn will have to go out for Jamar and will be the unluckiest player to dropped but it's terrific to know that the boy can play! So...

I'd like another tall defender though to help with Riewoldt and Vickery but I have zero faith in Warnock these days and I reckon MacDonald can do a third tall job well enough.

Either way next Saturday will be a ripping game!

Reckon if Garland doesn't come up, and Jamar returns, I'd keep Gawn for the centre square bounces and Jamar as a forward/ruck. Play Stef Martin as the 3rd tall/backline ruck.

The beauty of Martin is his ability to move so well around the ground that your not necessarily to tall with him playing as a 3rd ruckman.

I'd be tempted to start Jamar in the middle for 5 mins then send him forward, with Gawn doing the general duties with Martin following Vickery if he goes into the middle.

I agree with MM here even though the idea of 3 ruckmen does have some merit. I'd rather Martin ruck with Jamar playing predominantly forward and giving Martin the occasional rest while he gets his fitness and confidence back.

Gawn is VERY stiff but his time will come.

Surely only Trengove could get suspended for that. Nothing in it at all.

As for Garland, I saw him punching the turf, throwing the mouth guard, looking like he was gone when he did his ankle. But then on the bench, he had no crutches or ice/strapping and was walking freely after the siren. Hopefully he is right to come in. If not then the opportunity to give young Tom McDonald a game might be worth it due to the Tigers having a few tall forwards.

Disagree.

It wouldn't be the same as Essendons three ruckman experiment because Martin can spend the whole game back or forward, Jamar can spend large chunks up forward and Gawn can hold down some time up forward.

Sub Gawn off at half time or sometime during the 3rd quarter and bring in a runner.

It'll leave Jamar fresher and allow Martin to move into the ruck.

Not advocating it but I believe it would work better than Essendons flawed set up.
