Something tells me this is going to be a much talked about topic this week, so it'll probably be best to start it off early. And it gives everyone a thread to bag players in, in a constructive way.

A lot of players could be dropped this week, but how many can we afford to drop? In my opinion Head and Browne must go. While Hill, Thornton, Johnson and even Bradley could all find themselves out of the team. Personally I would keep Dodd and Duffield, but they too will be discussed.

Hopefully Hayden will be fit, and he is must to come back. While I would bring in Hinkley and Campbell too. Others who could find themselves in line for selection are Broughton, Gilmore, Drum, Walters, DeBoer and Clarke.

Out: Head, Browne, Hill, Thornton, Johnson, Bradley
In: Broughton, DeBoer, Hinkley, Hayden, Campbell, Clarke

Six changes seems like a lot, and I know the selectors wont make that many. But they all make sense, and can only make our team better. Head, Browne and Thornton are just bad footballers. We can't afford to carry Hill just for sake of him getting experience, he still needs to actually find the ball. While Johnson needs to go back to the WAFL, and Bradley needs to find himself a new position. I just can't see how we can keep playing Bradley as our second ruckman.

Bradley was a long long way from our worst. No danger he'll get dropped.

Head, Browne and Thornton have to go. I'd drop Duffield, but I think he'll stay in. Hill probably needs a run with West Perth, but there is no way in hell he should get the boot ahead of any of the 4 abovementioned crabs.

In? Who really cares - Broughton and DeBoer should get a run, Hinkley from all reports played alright yesterday. I'd give Kiwi a run if he's fit.

Agreed.

We need to change tack in a very big way. Those crabs (Head, Browne, Thornton) must go. There is no justification for them being in the team. Get them out, they cost us badly time and again and they will never achieve anything as AFL footballers.

Play the youngsters and stop persisting with these donkeys.

Edit: Was also dissapointed with Hill today. He didn't show anything and looked lost, time for a run at West Perth.

Outs: The whole team
Ins: The east freo team

Seriously we would have a better chance but realistically big changes need to be made. 6 shoud be a minimum after that performance. I don't care if the other guys arn't ready atleast they will have a go and learn something.

Ins: Hinkley, Clarke, Broughton, Gilmore, Walters, De Boer, Hayden
Outs: Head, Browne, Dodd, Hill, Thornton, Duffman, Crowley (even Johnno and Ibbo could be dropped IMO).

Sounds a bit dramatic but that was a disgrace. Worst performance Ive ever seen. Play the kids cut the crap. Harvey could be an out too.

How far is Brock off?

At least he has a red hot dip and is a reasonable kick

Broughton, Deboer Hayden.

The three donkey's out

Brock hasn't even resumed for Peel yet, so we can assume he is a few weeks off yet.

Please god that Hayden is right; give Broughton a go; DeBoer might need another week in the WAFL - one ressies + one league game might not be enough.

Hinkley - 23 possies, half a dozen tackles + half a dozen tackles, 2 goals... give him a run, he can't be worse than Browne and co...

fcuk me, he pinned lovett 2 times holding the ball, peeled off a couple great kicks in 50 and kept lovett relatively quite. i must admit he was pretty ordinary but he would be pretty far from the list of players i would want to see culled

You stole my thoughts, MadMac.

Head, Browne, Duffield and Thornton must go. Hill looks lost at the moment, needs some confidence. Dodd, Johnson & Crowley are definately struggling, but should get the benefit of the doubt.

How many changes? Potentially 10 or so, realistically it should be minimum 4 maximum 6.

From what I've seen of Duffield, I think it's worth playing him before a few others.

Just get him away from the opposition goals.... he just gives it up too often. At least if he is played further from their goals, they have to work it a bit harder to get it back over his head and through their sticks.

I hate to say it because he has been my favourite player over the last few years but Crowley's position in the team would certainly need to be looked at as well.....two very average to poor games from him.

Browne, Thornton and Head though should be the first to go.

Where do you start. The whole structure is wrong, if you could call it a structure in the first place.
Fundamental problems to be addressed. Too often 2nd to the ball. Lack of pace, particularly to run through lines and put opposition under real pressure. Disposal skills breaking down under minimal or even no pressure. That is, the ability to give it cleanly to someone wearing the same jumper.
Decision-making? Is that analysed at all post-match. Too many players taking the same wrong options as previous.
What was Michael Johnson's role today? What is Kepler Bradley's effective disposal rate? What is it if you discount the 20 meter chip sideways? Is his size and height a positive or negative, or both?
Why is Freo tackling so ineffective? Has the club worked on leg speed and/or body strength at all since last season?
Just the thoughts of a disinterested outsider, who watched the game with decreasing interest. Two sides who will finish 12 to 16, I suspect.
The fact that the 4-month Irishman cut up as he did can't reflect well. Good luck to him. Physically, Zaharakis seems a similar size to Hill, but much closer to ready now. Hill will become a great player, but needs to get some confidence back, with time on the ground and hands on the footy at West Perth. He's not being allowed to use his strengths at the moment, say, as a go to player who can run and deliver the ball long. Too much inside too early and he's not strong enough for that yet.

We need to draft skill - any positions...!!! (but thats another thread)

Next week changes;

OUT:
Bradley - just to "football-dumb" to being playing Afl
Head - kicking looks a million $$'s occasionally, & rest of time is woeful at best
Thornton - one of the worst players in Afl...full stop.
Browne - Time after time...why is this guy still playing Afl. Absolute crab
Hill - Done nothing 2 games in a row. Needs more time in Wafl. The Daniel rich stories will come thick & fast this week

IN:
Gilmore - BOG. Don't like his play, but not much to choose from.
Campbell - Will straighten us up hopefully. Add grunt that Pav seems to have lost
Hinkley - Give this kid more game time. Won Brownlow votes last time he played!
DeBoer - Did some nice things up forward for Claremont...worth a punt
Clarke - Superb in ruck for East Perth...surely better option than Bradley

Guessing Hayden will miss again

IN: Hayden, Campbell, Hinkley
OUT: Hill, Head, Browne

Hill needs time in the weights room. Campbell and Hinkley are far better than Browne and Head.

Do you want a job on the selection committee ???? I agree !!

Out:
Head - If he plays I don't think I can go to the game.....
Browne - I like the guy but has been terrible
Thornton - makes a turnip look accountable.
Hill - 50/50 as he'd go much better with the space at subi v a young adelaide but depends on who's available.

In:
Hayden - Please God, please let him be fit.
Hinkley - has pace which we lacked today.
Gilmore - can't be any worse than Thornton
De Boer - give the kid a go, at least he has a dip.

Unlucky
Broughton - would like to see him get a run, maybe if Hayden doesn't come up.
