Although I will say, the complete inability of any of our key defenders to defend Ben Brown is ******* staggering. No disrespect to him - he's carved out a really excellent career and is a well deserved premiership player - but he is entirely predictable. He will run in a straight line directly at the ball carrier at all times. If he runs in a different direction it is a fake lead and he will always double back. Our inability to stop him from kicking a bag on us is astonishing.

Ben Browns success is driven by our poor execution in the forward 50
As a result of us being super aggressive going forward when we aren't precise we are so often sliced up the other way with next too zero pressure on the ball carrier which allows sideshow the time and space to lead however and wherever he likes most often without any body pressure due to our zone.
Cord and Schache both don't have the pace to close down space.
It is a structural issue arising from a forward line that isn't dangerous enough to demand respect. We need to honour leads other than Naughts but whoever that is has to take their chances. Easier said than done though. Marra could be a crucial piece hope he can make the step up soon

So far. Martin and Voss tested negative yesterday and positive today. It might end up there but time will tell.

Schache plays second ruck and chops out on wing, backline or fwd. His flexibility is what Bevo wants. Just needs confidence. Hope is is given 3 to 4 games like Bevo has gifted to others who have played some shockers I.e Scott, Hannan, Roarke and Gards.

Cordy is out for JUH, Hunter is out for OBrien VDM about for AJ and Hannan out for WALLIS.

Jamarra for Hannan - we need a genuine threat

TOB for Cordy - have no intercept marking in defence

McNeil for VDM (JJ still injured) - need speed, better hands and goal sense

Duryea for Roarke (he was not our worst but Duryea is one of our better players and needs to come in)

I think we have to keep Schache even though this was one of his worst. We need to keep him in the forward line leading and rotating with JUH and playing second ruck. Alternative is playing Martin or Sweet.

Naughty needs help and while Schache didn’t deliver this time - he has before and will again. Need to simplify - not three jobs just - forward and take some ruck while English is resting. On and off the field. I prefer him down back but for team balance Keath, Gardner and OBrien better.

Williams, Libba and Daniel were all well below expectations but have runs on the Board and should be given time to get back to form.

I would like to see Wallis. West and García play but can’t really fit them in.

I still think we need to play sweet or Martin. Preferably sweet. It means carrying a bloke in the forward line who is lacking forward craft. But I would much prefer that to the current alternative which is carrying a scahche who isn’t impacting forward and is not competitive in the ruck or a Cordy who is lacking forward craft and non competitive in the ruck. At least sweet or Martin give us an advantage in the ruck and probably allow longer stints of English forward (still have him as number one ruck) than Cordy and Schache do.
