Duggo looked really good further up the ground against the Swans, playing almost as a midfielder, pressing high. I think he's ready for midfield minutes, myself.
Was impressed with his game!

Pushed onto the wing when Gaff went into the middle didn't he?

Duggan seems lighter and quicker last few games. Looks fit.

We looked a million times better because we weren't flat footed the whole game. Amazing what happens when the boys get on their bikes, hit contests and provide options with their run.

I think i saw Nelson attend a couple of CBD too at one stage before going straight back into defence.

The coaches definitely shook things up a bit, whether that was forced hand due to Shuey going down or not, I liked it.

FB: Hurn, Barrass, Sheppard
HB: Jetta, McGovern, Nelson
C: Duggan, Redden, Gaff
HF: Cripps, Darling, Waterman
FF: Ryan, Kennedy, Cameron
R: Naitanui, Kelly, Yeo
I: Allen, Sheed, Cole, Ah Chee

Jetta in for Shuey -> Duggan to wing with Redden inside, as it seemed to be in the 2nd half vs Sydney. Very impressed by his game.
Cameron in for Jones -> Pretty much a straight swap, but a shame as I thought Jones was quite important with his defensive pressure.

Yeah he has been good. The issue I have with him playing full time midfield and Jetta coming in is that he is more a part time midfielder and I think that will stuff up the fragile midfield ATM. So we hurt our defence to play a good defender out of position not ideal.

Felt like we played better with one less mid in rotation. More minutes for sheed and red dog.
I’d bring in two forwards and have them instructed to apply as much pressure and push up the ground to help link in transition next week.

O: Jones, Shu dog
I: Cameron, Petch

Ah Chee dog can chop out in the mid if the fellas need a break.

It's a good team.

Cameron (if fit) for Jones. Shame, as Jones was starting to gel with the others. But injuries happen.

For Shuey I’d go with one of our younger mids - can’t keep them in cotton wool forever. Need to find out what they’ve got in the big league sometime. Maybe O’Neill.

On injuries - I think we’ll start to see more hamstrings pinging across the league in coming weeks. Interrupted ‘pre-season’ due to Covid, faster game due to shorter quarters, tight muscles recipe for pinging strings.

Masseurs & conditioning staff could be big players through remainder of season.

I know he is our captain but I would drop Shuey. Unsighted after the first quarter and only had six touches. Not good enough.

Saw him sitting at the back of the bench, didn’t even have his guernsey on. Clearly not interested in going back on, not what you want from a captain.

Went looking for the centre square attendance stats but couldn't find them. So I decided to work them out myself.

When Shuey went down his centre square rotations seemed to go to Sheed and Ah Chee, rather than Redden. Redden started nearly every bounce on a wing. Seems like a waste of his big body and his ball-winning and tackling abilities to me.

Hurn and darling out.
Why won’t Simmo make the call.
Hurn looks so disinterested it’s not funny

Didn’t watch the Sydney game I take it?

If they weren’t dropped after the Port match, no way they’re getting dropped after vastly improved efforts against the Swans.

Would love to see XON get the debut this round against a weak as piss opposition, but Ainsworth's seems more likely.

Even more likely is Jetta and petrol come in.

No to Petrol, want Cameron back asap. Reckon he'll give the boys another spark.

Really think XON will be a gun and needs to get a taste this year. Would love to see him in this week to replace Shuey but think Jetts will be in instead.

Never want to see Brander on a wing again.

Agree with XON - gotta know what he’s got. Conversely he needs to know what he needs to work on.

Shuey has been hampered all year. Looked like a groin or hip (the way he's been moving), which may have contributed to creating a whole new hammy injury. If he needs 2-3 weeks then that's what he needs.
Give a young guy a few games.
Ah Chee probably survives because of the win and Shuey injury.

Cameron for Jones looks obvious, but with a wet forecast and dew after 1/2 time our selection committee might decide Hickey is a better like for like.

Bailey Williams unlucky again as OAllen responded beautifully to his kick in the pants and Waterman also put in a good one.
