Would love to see us give Chayce Jones a role on Butters
If Chayce goes into the midfield, I don't want it to be as a run with player.
The last time he was midfield, he was confused between his instinct (attacking the ball) and everything else he was told.

The next time he plays mid, I want him to hunt and accumulate and play on instinct.

Yep don’t mind if he does that but matched on butters

Take him on and try beat him

He was the only one that looked likely on Pickett last week so he’s ready

We pissed our season away with poor performances against Essendon and GWS, both of which were essentially 8 point games.

We play better against the top four than we do the middling sides, which is promising in terms of potential but frustrating in terms of being able to bank premiership points.
Might end up being a blessing in disguise. We can see we are capable of matching it with the top sides, but as you said we have struggled with mid table sides. If we do finish low this year we can hopefully finally draft that gun mid we desperately need. Then through the natural improvement of our team we should then move our way up the ladder next year and look to have a better shot at becoming a contending side with an improved midfield. If we had managed to scrape into the finals this year and finished 7th, we would have had a worse draft pick and ended up with less chance to find the midfielder we need. We want our next push up the ladder to be as successful as it can be and to do that you need a very good midfield, which we don't currently have.

That is all assuming that guys like Rachele, Pedlar, Soligo and Rankine continue to develop into good midfield options. Adding them with Dawson and our new 'gun mid' we can draft this year we have a midfield that could potentially compete with the better sides out there.

What's this about Troy and Shane Bond suing both clubs for the unlawful use of their image on the showdown trophy??
Its just rubbish. They want money. They think they should be getting something to have their picture on the trophy. Why bring it up now? They must be in financial trouble and looking at anyways they can the get some $$$$

Doesn't even need to be financial trouble, just takes an ambulance chaser looking for attention and promising easy money to get in someone's ear.

Big talk from someone who might not even play this w
It is honestly so friggin boring and predictable from them..blah blah blaah, we hate the Crows...we are the historical football club in this state,...blah blah blah. Honestly, they need to start treating this just like any other game (that goes for both clubs now I think about it). While I do love beating Port, I would have preferred this season to beat GWS, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Richmond or Collingwood (x2)

The funny part is more than likely they'll just remove their images instead, so instead of the pair immortalised on a trophy they'll be lost to history.

I can't imagine Collingwood carrying on like that ahead of their game against Carlton this week.

Top four teams at this time of year should be trying to do just enough to bank wins whilst managing players and not pick up injuries/suspensions. Like what Melbourne did in the weekend's game.

For a club that's won one flag they carry on as though they are some sort of powerhouse. If they go down it will go a long way to making sure they go out in straight sets.

I think Pedlar might be in trouble this week, can't continue to have a bloke at HF/Mid getting 8 or 9 touches with 80+% game time, that only works when he is kicking goals, can't wait to see him after another preseason and time in the weights room though.

Soligo should come back in.
Gollant a maybe
If Berg comes in I'm not going.
RT has to play as he seemed to trouble Aliir x2 last time.

I dont know, I just miss Murray and Rankine. They were the best y'know?

After watching a replay of the SANFL match against WWT, there are quite a few players pushing for a game.

Tall Defenders
They didn’t see much action but Borlase and Keane did their chances no harm. I believe Keane has more long term potential but Borlase has been better overall. I would be happy if either of them is given a run.

Medium/Small Defenders
Michaelanney must come in.
Parnell was preferred to The Nank last week before falling ill but I would prefer The Nank if we decide to go with two tall defenders (Butts and Worrell).
Hamill provides good run and carry but he is burning the ball a lot.
Bond is not ready for AFL at this stage

Inside Midfielders
We played Soligo, Berry, Brown and Dowling as our inside mids against WWT.
Tyler Brown was arguably BoG but is probably 4th in line.
Billy Dowling is developing nicely but it is probably a bit too soon for him.
Sam Berry had his second good game in a row (but missed the previous week with the flu) so he is close to a recall.
Soligo must play and start in the midfield in the Ones. He finished the game strongly and is sooo classy.

Outside Mids
Sholl had a typical Sholly game. Ran to the right spots, provided good run and carry, was ragdolled by a WWT first gamer.

Tall Forwards
Gollant deserves a run of games in the AFL but do we “rest” Tex or Fog this week? Don’t think so.

Small Forwards
I watched Newchurch closely and it was the same old story, lightning quick to get a handball receive, not keen on tackling or hard ball gets, jogs when the opposition gets the ball. I’d love to be proven wrong and he is quick.

Rucks
Strachan can’t do any more in the SANFL, is he better than Rob? Don’t think so.
Himmelberg played well but is just a backup to Thilthorpe. Not this week imho.

So…….

Out - Crouch, In - Laird

Out - Murray, In - Michaelanney

Out - Rankine, In - Soligo

McHenry sub, Hately to the SANFL.

A decent response would be being grateful to be on the trophy.
You mean like this?

“It’s very humbling [to be on the Shield], it’s great and something the family will look back on with pride,” Troy said.

“It’s a great picture, I’ve got it at home and Mum and Dad have a picture of it at home too.

:drunk: That'll be going in the defence bundle if there's a trial!
