Preview Changes: R20 Showdown vs Port Adelaide

Port play a pretty simple midfield gameplan. Congest it, then paddle or grubber kick it to Rozee or Houston waiting behind the pack who then passes on to Butters who then breaks from play (or vice-versa).

Just get Keays to stick by Rozee and Jones to stick by Butters. McHenry to lock down Houston.

Take those 3 out of the game and Port are relying on metres gained by scrubbers like Wines and Boak.

Agreed, ports team is actually pretty littered with journeymen and hacks outside the midfield group.

The forward line is incredibly average, marshall, Dixon and finlayson don't really strike any sort of fear into me.

I would have thought both Pedlar and Shoeys burst speed would elevate them above medium, and all of Cook, Keays, Soligo and Sholl barely seem medium by AFL standards - scraping the bottom of the 'medium' barrel

If as we all hope, Michaelanney is good to go then we either drop The Nank and bring in Borlase or Keane or we retain The Nank and stick to two talls (Butts and Worrell). I can see Finlayson cutting us to pieces if we play just two tall defenders but he will probably rip us apart regardless.

Powaa want to win and importantly they know what to do to make that happen We want to win but we also want the good news story of Sloane and Crouch running through the banner for their last showdown. Finlayson is a handy sort of player, he's not someone I'm worried about kicking a bag against us. He's been in the system for 7 years and has only kicked more than 40 goals once.

Well not really, he trained with the A team at training today, that’s always a very strong indication of who is playing. It appears he has got the nod ahead of Borlase.

It’s a shame this has happened. But pay them fair value for their contribution to the inherent value of the image. Even if the AFL they have no legal basis to this claim, pay them some eff off $ and start working on a new image.

I believe it was based on VB's presser throwing Keane's name out as a potential replacement for Murray. He also listed Borlase and not replacing Murray with a tall at all, so he hit every option available pretty much.
