i know he is out of favour but I was hoping Ben Davis was going to come in for an injured McAdam.
It is a disgrace that we have had this guy on our list for 5 years and he has played only two games.
Its pretty disappointing that we haven't either given him a go or got rid of him.

Unfair. If anything, Nicks could not be happy with Frampton, and he has alternatives to choose from.
What I said was:
" Nicks' comments are very worrying; he's kidding himself if he thinks Frampton "... has been playing well in a side that is performing ... " when it's obvious he has been the Crows' worst player the last 2 weeks. ".
Either he's kidding himself or he's playing a straight bat. We'll find out when the team is announced.

Based on what I've seen last two weeks, there are none. Frampton's positioning is terrible, he has concrete hands which make Fogarty's lead-mark-goals so much more valuable, his kicking for goal is woeful. He has no positive effect on the game for the Crows. People have commented that he brings the ball to ground; I'd rather he mark the ball.
What do you think those 'reasons' might be, please?
We get it, some may even agree but going on and on about it on here won't change the coaches views.

So true. “Bringing the ball to ground” is a polite way of saying “drops marks”

Or Fyfe.

It's certainly a good idea though, especially with Keays performing as well as he is.
TBH I feel like a guy like Berry would probably learn more from Mundy then he would from Fyfe at this point in Fyfe’s career. He now seem’s to be that hybrid FWD/MID who gets teammates blocking for him and endless ball shoehorned his way.

Mundy is just an super effective big bodied mid that hunts his own footy and slices teams up without them noticing (note, I’m a un-ashamed David Mundy fan, feel like he's one of the most underrated players in the comp).

Feel like out of the 2 Berry could end up way more Mundy than Fyfe for us. And that would make me very happy!

Not sure how many times it has to be said that no matter how bad Frampton’s form is... its still better than Himmelberg’s current is!!.. before the himmelberg love and appreciation squad in here give up trying to convince everyone that himmelberg deserves a call up..

Yes, thats how bad himmelberg has been this year..

himmelberg deserves to be dropped to the SANFL reserves on what hes shown so far this year more than anything...

if we are gonna replace frampton.. Thilthorpe would be the better option.. he aint exactly lighting it up in the SANFL either but he’s got talent in spades when compared with frampton and himm..

que the himmelberg love and appreciation squad resorting to calling me a himm hater...

after all, how dare I constantly point out the obvious to those who shut their eyes, put their hands over their ears and squeal “alalalalalala” before returning to post “himmelberg has to come in for frampton” yet again..

That's an even smaller and less important issue. Now you're talking about needing a player in the 22 for an event that may not happen once in the entire season

I've always been a glass half empty person, but I did say it was insurance.

Do you have house insurance, car insurance etc? We all have it but may never need it in our lifetimes. I've had house insurance for 21yrs and never made a claim.

I do see your point though. Let's hope it doesn't happen to a team in an important game.

Firstly, my comments are not unfair. Secondly, I have no idea what those 'reasons' may be. That is why I said "There would be reasons why Frampton is still in the team that we are obviously not aware of".

I think the difference is, if your house burns down, you can't simply replace it with another house that's been playing in the backup house league the following weekend.

Reality is that very little discussion of a selection thread is going to be about the 18 certain selections each week. If you venture in here 2 days out from the game, what else are you actually expecting people to be talking about?

House insurance is forced upon people by the other interested party.

I get where you are coming from and it would be a reasonable position IF we had a "normal" reserves setup.

Unfortunately with different rules, surrounded by team mates who are not really their team mates it is hard to shine.

It is a stretch to expect a player to "light it up" on a continual basis how we are currently set up.

Frampton has been crap. We are meant to be in a rebuild.

Time (well past actually) to give the next guy a 4 week block to see how he performs in our structure surrounded by somewhat competent team mates.

I dont buy the lets blame the “reserves set up” for himmelberg’s form..

he was crap in the club trial.. he was again rubbish a week later in the crows “seconds” team vs ports “seconds” (the game TT tore port a new one).. he showed nothing in the sanfl trials.. he was rubbish in the sanfl game against South Adelaide and he improved slightly last week against the westies but was still beaten many times by his sanfl standard opponents..

the worst thing though is that he looks lazy and disinterested and seems to be having a bit of a sulk.. as if him not instantly being named in the AFL side has pissed him off and he’s thrown his bum in the corner over it..

hopefully he can turn it around but at the moment its either frampton or thilthorpe taking that second ruck/forward role for mine... rewarding himm with it would be rewarding his extremely poor form and attitude.

My memory tells me that we've never had a forward dominate in the SANFL. There's tended to be too many talls diwn there and average delivery from mostly poor performing teams. JJ was an ok AFL level goal kicker, I don't remember him kicking bags down there.

Yep, I would be going for TT in now (I wanted him in for his 4 week block starting with GC). Berg can wait his time.

Just wasting games with Billy, unfortunately this is one AFC hallmark that looks like it's continuing under Nicks.

My guess...a major part of his role is to disallow opponent or intercept marks. Whether through positioning or competing... Not stat worthy, not really noticed, except I remember that being so frustrating the last couple years, not so much this year.

Hmm, I just remembered we have the 9 day break against Freo's 7 days. Those 2 extra days off might come in very handy in the last quarter this week.

As Nicksy's alluded to in his presser, a lot of bodies start to get a bit sore after a month. Especially with our young line-up!
You may wish to buy a new calendar. Our last game (vs North Melbourne) was on Sunday 11th April, and we will be playing Freo on Sunday 18th April, a 7-day gap. We have had longer to recover... but only 3 1/2 hours longer.

We had a 9-day break going into the North Melbourne game, having played R3 on Good Friday.

Touche, I blew it!

Before the 2012 prelim there was a section of the fangroup demanding Tippett be dropped for Jenkins because Tippett's form was horrible and Jenkins had a streak of several games in a row with 7/8 goal hauls in the SANFL.

If you mean since the existence of the Crows SANFL team, Podsiadly had similar form toward the end of 2015.
