Seeing Pickett do some relief Ruckwirk last night makes me think we should not carry Frampton due to his Rucking.

He is a terrible forward.

If your Forward/Ruck is a good.forward you keep him in the side. Frampton ain't.

Lynch, Fog, Tex and even Seed could pinch hit in the middle

ROB sits on the pine for 2 minutes per quarter. Surely you'd miss one or two centre bounces per match at most. If it's about centre bounces, then it's miles off. Perhaps look at workload when on the ground instead. Great to see him take a grab on the goal line and slot one. But how many times does he work down that far for no result. Shouldn't he be resting in a behind the ball position whilst one of our players is soaking up 30 seconds having a set shot?

Whether that's continuity or good bloke related, it is a terminal mindset if you're after ultimate success.
Frampton should have been dropped after Round 3 (ie after 2 poor games), but most definitely after last week.
Nicks' comments are very worrying; he's kidding himself if he thinks Frampton "... has been playing well in a side that is performing ... " when it's obvious he has been the Crows' worst player the last 2 weeks.
Retaining underperforming players in winning or losing teams shows signs of favoritism, weakens the team and sends the wrong message to Frampton and players who might replace him.
Mistake, Nicksy.

What Nicks is telling the media isn't necessarily the same as what he is saying to the players. You would have to be pretty dumb to believe the coach is happy with Frampton's game.

A few people on here seem to think that all of the changes to the coaching staff have had zero impact on team selection, and that they have somehow cloned a losing selection formula from days past. There would be reasons why Frampton is still in the team that we are obviously not aware of.

Trust in the new Crows. Crom is Good.

He is important down back. Almost another loose defender.

I don't like him near goals though.

Trust me they would want to drop Frampton for good. They are just waiting for someone to put in a half decent performance in the Sanfl.

It was hardly mentioned here, but ROB saved us with some massive marks v Suns late in the 4th in their forward 50.

Frampton typically takes 2-3 center bounces a match. Pretty trivial to find a replacement.

I've said before that I'd put Lachie Murphy in the ruck. Richmond last night were using Marlion Pickett. The second ruck spot is absolutely irrelevant, it's the last thing that matters on the field

Jackson Hately is 190cm and built like a brick s**thouse, for 3 centre bounces a game he'd be completely fine!

Looks like Frampton gets another week listening to Nicks presser. :( Doing an important job of dropping marks and not kicking goals.
I personally don’t expect much from Frampton.....and maybe I’m easily pleased as it’s been ages since we’ve had big guys crash packs. I’m so used to seeing opposition defenders thumping the high ball towards the boundary or 40 metres away from our goal into dangerous rebounding areas for the opposition. I’m actually not minding him in the team atm, atleast he’s getting his hands to it in the air

I’m not even sure of his role?
Apparently to keep his opponent from Tex?
I’ve seen multiple times frampton come over to the contest when there’s been no need.

I mean 2020 does feel like a lifetime ago with how much has happened.

It does take a while to mentally accept we don't have Jenkins out there anymore.

What happens if your no1 ruck gets injured early in the game? This is where you could get caught out.

Hunter is only new to AFL and is basically the Saints 3rd choice ruckman. Imagine a small bloke going against an elite ruckman like Gawn.

I think you have to have a back up ruckman in the 22 as insurance, which is a head scratcher at the moment for us as no-one is grabbing that chance.

That's an even smaller and less important issue. Now you're talking about needing a player in the 22 for an event that may not happen once in the entire season

Sounds like Ports justification for having Dixon in the team

Wouldn't mind sending Berry to Mundy this week for a run with role.

3 Objectives; Run, Tackle, Learn!

Or Fyfe.

It's certainly a good idea though, especially with Keays performing as well as he is.

Unfair. If anything, Nicks could not be happy with Frampton, and he has alternatives to choose from.

Either he's kidding himself or he's playing a straight bat. We'll find out when the team is announced.

Based on what I've seen last two weeks, there are none. Frampton's positioning is terrible, he has concrete hands which make Fogarty's lead-mark-goals so much more valuable, his kicking for goal is woeful. He has no positive effect on the game for the Crows. People have commented that he brings the ball to ground; I'd rather he mark the ball.
What do you think those 'reasons' might be, please?
