That would depend if the coaching panel see him purely as midfielder given none of them have probably seen him play defence for Claremont.

Either way I don't think our current coaching panel are the complete mugs some on here seem to be suggesting, maybe valid last year and the year previous but hardly the case now.
Hasn’t his development been hampered a bit? Same as Gollant. Man, he’s put on some size.

Even leading forwards need to be able to find their own ball. They can't rely solely on being hit on the tit every time they lead at the ball. Fogarty doesn't appear to be capable of winning the ball for himself, either in the midfield or forward line.
Who got more of the ball last week & previous...

Fogarty or McAdam?

Sorry but Dmac isn’t going to make a scrap of difference.
Why would form suddenly change now?
Dmac will eventually sit in selection committee so his presence will forever be contentious.

Just forget it mate. The club picks and chooses when structure matters

Playing Fogarty as an inside mid to accommodate Himmelberg, Thilthorpe and Walker? No problemo. Tick of approval.

Fogarty playing instead of McAdam? Nah. Screws the structure you see. Can't be done. Impossible

kane mcgoodwin prefers kicks out on the full apparently. the clown has no idea.
No, doubt one of us has nfi...

Missed the Berg's long bomb on the run last week.

It's him or Himmelberg, and based on last week's performance, Himmelberg has him covered by the length of the Flemington Straight.

Yes, he's slimmed down - he still has a loooooong way to go in that department though. His problem isn't fat, it's excess muscle bulk.
Hence why he has started train with CrossFit methods. Based on form Himmelberg is ahead however by seasons end it will be the other way around.

Tex, Berg and RT didn't have too much trouble marking the ball last week.
???... berg dropped at least three easy marks last week.

and yet again missed another shot on goal from 35 out on a slight angle.

anyone that thinks berg is the future has to open their ****ing eyes.

he’s barely AFL standard and he’s nowhere near AFL finals standard. Imagine relying on berg taking an after the siren kick for goal in prelim to win the game from 30 out straight in front.. he wouldnt even be close to a 50/50 chance of kicking it.

forwards that consistantly drop pretty simple marks and consistantly miss basic goals arent forwards worth persisting with.

berg is in the team for one reason and one reason only... as the backup/chop out ruckman because the club dont want to have Thilthorpe do that at this point of his career.. and thats probably a very sensible decision tbh.

everyone of us knows what Fogarty’s problem is.. he has a massive Texan that is in front of him and is the current preferred option. We’ve all seen that fogarty’s best games for the club have been the games where Tex is out injured.

He’s like some sort of non-giving up junktime disposal chasing in the last quarter to get to 17 guy.

Remember there was actually those who thought him being signed on last year didn’t mean he would get games in front of all those youngsters coming through 😂
Bravo good Sir. Bravo.

And yet Tex( a natural leading fwd) has been allowed how many strings of ineffectual or low impact games ehilst working under the same conditions over the past few years?

Honestly, the dropping of Fog makes sense. He's been ineffective in the middle and we solely missed Berry's tackling and pressure last week. Jiath and O'Meara strode through the centre with ease. I feel forward is his best position but with Tex, TT and Berg already up there, moving him there would've rendered us too top heavy, and I thought Berg competed well enough to hold his spot for another week.

That's a weak excuse on Fogarty.

If he's as good as people here want to believe it makes no difference that Tex is there.

Tex is, always has been and always will be a far superior player.

I hope they do persist with playing him in the SANFL midfield. It's the best way I can see for them to get him properly fit.

Having said that, their primary instruction to him should be to lay off the protein shakes and lose some of his excess weight. He's carrying 5-10kg of excess musle bulk (not fat). If he loses that, he'd be far more agile, quicker and more mobile. That's his best chance of releasing the quality player inside of his "Incredible Hulk" like body.

Do you actually realise how much muscle that would be? :tearsofjoy:

Exactly. Slow burn.
