Yeah that’s what I’m saying, I do tend to ramble though. If we drop Reidy, do it to get more run in.

It doesn’t have to be a case of well Voss is tall, so I guess he’s the next option. We have enough talls capable of doing it already.

Always a fun board after a loss.
Yes always fun after a 13 goal loss which included a 10 goal to 1 last 1/4 capitulation.

First one to drop is Walker after that effort. That annus horribilis switch to Ryan. There were a number of times where he looked to be going in second gear. Same issue in the IAS game except 4 pts are on the line. Didn’t think Wagner was that bad. Worner had some ok moments but Draper is better one on one defender and has been training as defender on small forwards. We were too tall in the backline.

Reidy to swap with Voss. Reidy was supporting LJ and gives nothing when up forward.

Bolton in for Switta (injured). Perhaps Walters if fit to sub.

Out: Worner, Walker, Reidy, Switta
In: Voss, Bolton, Walters, Chapman

Draper to play lock Lockdown on a small forward.

The best from the Peel game can be sub.

Out: Reidy, Worner, switkoski
In: Bolton, Erasmus, Walters (sub)

Cox to play forward / back up ruck.

Would prefer Brodie to Erasmus but that won’t happen.

Would also prefer Sturt to Banfield and Aish to Wagner but think they are injured.

If Bolton not fit, I’d go with Simpson for some more speed.

Simpson apparently carried off with ankle injury. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Like this Cox move, especially against Sydney whose tall forwards are shizen.

I was going to ask "How many times have Sydney lost 3 games in a row?", but it's OK, I've done the research.

Surely Chapman starts despite being given odds and sods roles as the sub today. I would have thought he was one of the better decision makers with the ball off half back.

Not sure why you would leave him out when you're already missing Young and Bolton.

The overuse of handball i can understand how it happened. Skinny ground, hard to spread, they played with a +1 so you have to try get around/over/through. And their pressure was excellent so denied us time and space.

The rest of it no idea, assume Serong was trying to break tag to some degree?
Longmuir's game plan is to handball forward of the play. Not sure it works against the better sides who bring pressure. Hasn't worked in the past and didn't today. I am concerned, not with the loss but the game plan looked the same.

even with his problems I still want to see Erasmus. Look at the tackle count today - ras is at least good for 10 tackles and you can trust him to run the game out.

I refuse to believe playing spuds like banners and Worner and Reid is better than getting Erasmus 20 more games.

JLo cooking ras’ development is yet another ball drop. Maybe his worst - look how light we are in the middle with only young missing really (and fyfe I guess)

The deer in the headlights thing is overplayed. He was best on in the wafl grand final and peel’s best last year. I have seen him play 3 quality afl games (and some shit one’s, no denying). Writing him off is so shortsighted.

Erasmus ships the bed under pressure, would have been a liability in the first half today.

This is hilarious after what we saw from the midfield today. Where’s the last full game he even played.
If Erasmus plays the game JOM played today he’d be getting smashed, (plenty of touches but missed targets and no hurt factor).

A 2 way running machine with big body would not have gone astray today

One of the so called 'shit games ( where the opposition supposedly played through his man), wasn't shit anyway. I watched a replay of the first half and he wasn't run off and was actually involved in a lot of our scoring plays. My only issue with Raz is he lacks speed off the mark. He isn't slow per se but not quick off the mark. It wouldn't be a big deal if our midfield was a bit quicker.

I’m not sure Liam Reidy did enough in the three games so far to justify his position. Jackson with Voss would probably be the better option for team balance. Grundy is definitely not one hundred %. He’s also not the brute type ruck, that Jackson really struggles with.

Selecting Ras isn't even about whether he's better or worse than X. It's about having enough options to throw in when you're not set on your midfield rotation. Freo and Geelong arguably are both teams that have unset midfield rotations. But compare the pair of attendances from 34 centre bounces.

Freo had Brayshaw 29 (85%), Serong 24 (71%), NOD 23 (68%), Johnson 17 (50%), JOM 8 (24%) and Banfield 1 (3%). 6 of JOM's 8 were in the last qtr, where we got beat 8-2 in centre clearance. Apart from that, it's 2 unproven youngsters taking full time inside mid loads. And despite having ok games in general, they each had less clearances than Jeremy Sharp.

Geelong had Atkins 22 (65%), Holmes 21 (62%), Knevitt 19 (56%), Stewart 17 (50%), Smith 9 (26%), Danger 7 (21%), Clark 6 (18%), Mullin 1 (3%). Any guesses which team had more staying power, more answers to throw at the opposition?

Ras might not be the answer. That's a fine thing to talk about when Young and Fyfe are back. But right now we just need any answers.

Clark was Geelong's sub too. 14% game time. 5 disposals. 2 clearances.

Absolutely correct, with Fyfe, Bolton and Young all out Erasmus and Brodie should have BOTH played. Drop two or three of the dozen defenders we stupidly picked.
