Crazy thought. Who suggested this move?Listening to the 'Purple Reign' pod and took away an interesting thought:
Resting Darcy for Jackson to mitigate any chance of injury on the hard Docklands turf as he's still getting his body right. This would allow O'Mac to remain in the side also.
Not sure how much of a factor the hard surface will be but it is some food for thought.
Treacy and Bolton no doubt get stuck into anyone who ****s with our boys. You just know the Saints will aim to bash up our boys. Ok it’s a contact sport but the assaults on Andy last game and Serong the week before were over the top imo. I don’t like the blind eye umpiring.
Juicy scoop that. Our leaders had a meeting and players voiced their concerns. Luke Ryan apparently asked what we wanted to stand for as a team and a club. The rest of the leadership group joined in. I think the Melbourne performance shocked the group into asking the hard questions of each other.
Serong mentioned that we have had no identity this year and the team wanted to figure it all out.
If our identity is to come out and hunt the ball and tackle. To work hard for each other and to make our opponents pay for their errors then we should be beating most teams from here.
Sometimes a bad loss is exactly what a team needs to wake up.
If that's the case, it sounds like it may be the wakeup call the club needed. Our leaders had a meeting and players voiced their concerns. Only if they go on with itIf that's the case, it sounds like it may be the wakeup call the club needed.
If they play the sort of football they played last Friday, then I think they will be fine.Only if they go on with it
We only played 1 good half.If they play the sort of football they played last Friday, then I think they will be fine.
We only played 1 good half.
We do that consistently from here and we are lucky to play finals.
That's..as much?I think we need to put Murphy Reid in front of Melbourne audiences as possible.
There was a price to be paid for the first quarter? To be fair I can't blame the team for easing on the brakes at 3/4 time when we're up by 7 goals, no matter what the club says about wanting to have a 4qtr performance. Definitely told at 3/4 time to just see the game out and not get injured
Yeh don’t you hate when the opposition try to win as well?We only played 1 good half.
We do that consistently from here and we are lucky to play finals.
The problem under JL has always been consistency. We’re good for a spell, drop off, get beaten by a lesser, more hungry side, JL reminds them to play with more aggression, we’re good for a spell. Rinse and repeat. We’ll see in a month. If they play the sort of football they played last Friday, then I think they will be fine.
That could also relate to the age and experience of the group. Not using how young we are as the only explanation but it could explain some of the inconsistencies we've seen so far.The problem under JL has always been consistency. We’re good for a spell, drop off, get beaten by a lesser, more hungry side, JL reminds them to play with more aggression, we’re good for a spell. Rinse and repeat. We’ll see in a month.
Yep. Saints have been under the pump in the media all week, they've lost a few in a row, Ross getting kudos for giving a spray last week. You just know the Saints will aim to bash up our boys. Ok it’s a contact sport but the assaults on Andy last game and Serong the week before were over the top imo. I don’t like the blind eye umpiring.
