Nelson could probably come straight in, it was his wrist so his fitness base will be fine. Cripps I'm not too sure on, I know he's one of the fittest at the club but coming off an ankle, and early, I'd keep Mutts in for another game. Not quite sure of the deal on Petrie either, seems quite a strange selection.

Keep Frase and **** petrie off IMO.
Bloke joins the club. Plays one game. Breaks his hand. Gives his all. Contributes to a good win.

Comes back into the squad, unlikely to play anyway.

Gets told to **** off.

Lovely.

It would be typical of us to get rid of Mutts, never let them fully develop in the seniors. Back to East Perth where we will use you only as a backup player for the next 3 years.
I really want this kid in the side for the next 3-4 games, let him find his feet.
if he is the best for his position play him
if he is on par with an older player - play him and invest in an upside
if he is less value than an established player- play him at EP as a developing player

agree the only Change should be Nelson for butler

Cripps was meant to be out much longer, so I think an extra week will only do him good injury-wise. Also I don't think you can say he's been sorely missed.

Petrie isn't a walk up start.

I would bring Nelson in as I think we may need him in defence against the Bombers' forward setup. I gather you might disagree with that one though, given the likely out...[/QUOTE]

Why?

A couple of recent EP games I saw and Karps is struggling at WAFL to stick a tackle. I do not want another Masten type tackler on HBF.

I rate Karps much higher than Cole, wasn't aware of his tackling issues though. Just want to see him in the team.

To me, both Petrie and McInnes are unknowns.

Each has only played one game this year, both played well. Both are potential liabilities moving forward - McInnes hasn't shown much in years, and Drew looked absolutely shot last year so who knows how many good games he has left in him. I don't have much confidence in either tbh.

When is Scotty Flycett back? And do we play him with Vardy thus eliminating the above problem or does Vardy get replaced and we still have to make the Petrie/McInnes/Daylight/Giles decision?

Yeah but Simmo did say please and thank you

Cole's just biding his time, lulling everyone into a false sense of security. But when the time is right he's going to strike and Butler will be left dancing on the sidelines
Butler is definitely the better dancer though...

and he has better hair

With some wiggle room. Mutes performance hasn't set the world on fire, but he's not costing us games. It would be nice to seem him string a few games together up to the bye and then make a decision.

McInnes is a different story, he got his run when JD was out a few years back, and needs to be picked on form (which he has) compared to the other ruck/forward fill-ins whilst the #1 and #2 are out.

Butler has been playing pretty good football alternating weeks. He might be due for a bad game or he might need a rest being one of the elder statesmen of the side.

Cripps I think is an easy inclusion at his best, but I think he should have a game for EP to guarantee he's over his ankle injury in a match situation with heavy contact and tackling/changing directions like a a mad man.

Petrie in for Fmac makes no sense and surely won't happen.

I watched the Karp's video, "the Sharks can't catch Karp" .... Something to that effect, and I was very impressed by his development. Has great evasiveness and is so good at switching the play up. Another year of development and he will be a beauty - ideal replacement as a centerman.
